      If there was a section for SQL along with mongo or even instead, it would be great.

    Glad I came across your video analysis of
    The OdinProject, I just started the foundations portion yesterday & I’m 12% in as of today, 7/2/22. I’m both excited and also worried about some of the roadblocks, but of course that’s life in general. Nonetheless, I’m looking forward to all that comes with this journey. Thank you so much for your time in putting these videos together, they help to give us perspective. Although we all learn differently and have preferential ways of learning, your insight helps to bring clarity to our individual perceptions, have a great weekend.

      Sorry for responding late, I’m up to the HTML potion on The Odin Project, however, I’m completely behind schedule, I should’ve been way ahead by now. But like with everything else in life this requires time, dedication, & consistency & unfortunately with my full time job I’m completely exhausted. I will say that when I am spending time on it I totally love it. Extremely thorough & fun learning. Sorry guys! I wish I had more to tell you, other than if you have the time & dedication then you’ll succeed in completing The Odin Project. Til then, I’ll try & update when I complete the HTML portion.

    Thanks for the video, it's very informative. I'm at 85% of the Foundations and your points are accurate. BTW is TailwindCSS preferred over Bootstrap currently?

    • @webdevwithseb
      @webdevwithseb  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I appreciate the feedback!
      Tailwind is much more in style than Bootstrap at the moment, thats for sure. However, you may be surprised to find that what is popular with developers is not what is popular with employers.
      Bootstrap is still big, it's just that people aren't as vocal about it as Tailwind.

    After you do foundations you cover DS&A on the Ruby track at least.
    Then you lightly touch on frameworks and preprocessors in intermediate html/css.
    Just a heads up as it is misleading to say it's missing from the curriculum.
    Hope there's a part 2, as it's a little comforting to choose something you're spending tons of time on and hear good things about it!!!

    Awesome video. I feel you down played it yourself. Right to the point content with no filler! I'm actually in the process of getting the landing page done. Your report on it was good to know! Thanks. Would love your thoughts on there full stack section. Quick question...do you think someone can aquire enough knowledge from foundations to start applying for Jr. Positions? Keeping in mind you suggested also having bring some what familiarity with data structures and algorithms. Do you think showing an employer an eagerness to learn would help with getting a job with just foundations alone?
    Thanks. Appreciate your time.

    • @webdevwithseb
      @webdevwithseb  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a great question. In my opinion HTML/CSS/JS can be enough to get a full time job as a junior. But know that employers tend to use tools like React and Angular, and the foundations knowledge is a pre-requisite for learning those tools. If you can show them that you are willing to learn their tools/processes quickly, I think that can definitely help your chances with just the foundations knowledge.

      I think it's worth mentioning that most people who do TOP find the most success during the mid point of rails or at the end of node.
      The entire curriculum is supposed to make you a JR. Developer. Foundations is just the foundations for all that.
