Phoenix (Ha Kwong-Li) is the prodigal daughter of sorts with a chip on her shoulder. She's asked to learn kung fu from kicking expert Mo Ku-fung (Sun Jung-Chi), but despises his harsh training. She and Chin Pan, her mischievous servant, say good riddance when he leaves to attend to his sick wife. Replacing him is another top kicker named Tan Hai-chi (Tao-liang Tan) who resumes training. Phoenix transfers her disdain to Tan and their relationship sours until she gets mixed up with two idiot village bullies named Ding Dong and Dong Dong. Tan exploits the situation in order to humble Phoenix, who in turn agrees to be a dutiful student going forward. Focused leg training resumes until a vicious master of the ground kick named Peng Fung (Peng Kong) comes looking to avenge Tan's killing of his brother. Phoenix joins her new master in fighting Peng in a battle of leg mastery.

five deadly venom the crippled avengers the snake in the crane kid with the Golden arms just ordered return of 36 chamber I'm a new ones now that good but you see the mostly focused on sword fighting or sometimes you use magic I mean you'll get hand to hand combat from time to time but the movies I just named you don't get hand to hand combat like that no more 😎💯🎚️

A very long time ago, in the 80’s, when I was little kid, there was a show that aired on Saturdays called Kung Fu Theater. They would usually show a double feature of Kung fu, and my Dad and I would record all of them on reused VHS tapes. My father and I would watch Kung Fu Theater, and the tapes, especially when the show stopped airing, over and over. It was so great. And this film was one of the recorded ones we had!! It was my favorite one. For one reason there is a female main character who eventually becomes a bad ass protagonist. As a little girl, that was very cool To me. It also has fantastic characters, humor, tells a real story, and the fights are very well done, extremely good Kung fu. And we’d laugh at the funny parts (there are several very funny things and sayings in this film) and say the catchphrases to each other. Along to the film but also when the film wasn’t playing. We’d be laughing and no one else would know why😂My Dad was the greatest. For years I searched for it, not knowing the name, until finally, I found it. He loved Kung fu films, Bruce Lee, Gordon Liu, the films with with the Shaolin monks, Shogun Assassin, Drunken Master, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, etc. And he passed that on to me, his only child. He’s the only person who would watch them with me. He died 2 years ago this coming December 13th. I still cannot watch a Kung fu film without tearing up a bit, ESPECIALLY this one, cause I miss him so much, and this was our favorite. Now I watch them by myself 😔 But it also makes me smile, because of so many happy memories we shared with Kung fu films. This is still my favorite, and I just hope that my Dad, somewhere, somehow, is still watching with me 🙏

Same with me and my uncle. We would watch every Saturday channel 13 with the old TV and rabbit ears antenna with lots of aluminum foil. We watched a total of 40 classic Kung fu movies and 36 chambers and Executioners of Shoalin was our favorite. He passed last year of covid19 and watching these always brings back fond memories.
Good movie. But by far perfect. I cannot believe that Hwang Jang Lee and John Liu are not here. They are two of the all-time greats.
Especially John Liu being an excellent leg fighter.

Tan Tao Lang (Southern Leg) is a legend, for sure those are the trio of kickers outside of modern kickers like Ken Lo of course. What if i told you that the Southern Leg in this movie was the instructor of John Liu :)

A Delon Tam classic. Delon Tam is one of the great kickers in martial arts films and this is an excellent presentation of his kicking ability as well as those of other actors in this film.
There are some seriously goofy parts, but the martial arts are fun to watch.
I'll never forget walking into the Granby Mall Theater in Norfolk, VA for the first time.
There on the super huge screen before me ... or what I could see of it through the walkway between the concession stand, bottom of the balcony and raise floor at the entrance way, was just the nose of the comedy-relief servant. That theater had/has (haven't been down there for decades) a huge screen.
It was so great to see this film there.
I think you paid like $2.99 if you you got there before 6 PM, and you could stay until they closed. They would show 2 movies over and over again until they closed around midnight. The theater was never full, but there were always martial artist there mixed in with the drunks and homeless than managed to get in to avoid the summer heat. No one had any constraint about yelling stuff out or cheering. People would stand up, clap, hoot, and holler at the what was going on and the end of an awesome kung fu flick.
But, yeah, I think this movie is excellent even beyond my awesome memories of seeing it for the first time.
Mistress and Goofy Dude make an interesting duo. I absolutely loved these two, they both really carried the movie lol

Man I love karate movies man I'm in back in the days go down to the Grand in Milwaukee the Grand avenue in Milwaukee Wisconsin you had a movie theater they sell karate movies every Friday all day all the throwback movies you know I like the fake karate movies I love Bruce Lee but I love that face stuff they running on trees and s*** man if y'all know but we need to bring back karate movies to regular TV for free in Milwaukee worldwide great entertainment great skills great workout and much love to all the karate schools Charlene Wu-Tang Japanese African karate cuz that's the way it started from African started karate
Notice how they can put 30 seconds of technical action in ONE shot. Hollywood could learn a lot from these directors.

The girl who plays phoenix is in a move Called "The Woman Avenger". Probably has some of the best choreography in any Martial Arts movie.

I like some of the old school martial arts, with no stunt double or flying around like superman or cameraman keep cutting of the punching and kicking you don't know who kick who or got knock the f- out. Just showing their real raw talent.

Group kicking is 1 of the MOST Underrated martial arts forms in 🤚to ✋️or 🦶to 🦶 Combat if used cleverly, it can Really Surprise & Confuse a Foe Big Time

One of my favorite Kung Fu movies. The girl can kick higher than Tan Tao Liang's because she has no balls to be the obstacle for spreading of the legs.
Is it true that testicles are really an obstacle for men spreading their legs as high as girls? Bc i saw many girls kick higher than guys and without bending their body!

Gotta give props to all the stuntman too. They were just as athletic and damn good to get beaten and move around like that. It's hard to find people that can work thus smoothly without needing any big practices.!

The ground kicking master was the most expert than Liang , White haired Chinese are always hot in technique, if Master Tao was alone wouldn't kill Peng Pang , he was very deadly in his ground kicking style
Description says it all ! Movie has a good mix of everything a kung fu fan normally is looking for. Great fighting, some light comedy, story line changing, top notch leading star and of course a talented good looking woman who can fight. Same with movies that have narration at beginning a big plus for most fans. Just another Wu Tang great once again.
