Yeah u could see it that way too but i think that he made mussolini dictator in 1933 so we could compare roman empire's war machine to nazi germany's and basically the allies were just gaul, germany and england, perhaps america (new rome) helped the restorer of it's heritage and russia isnt involved so it is a very easy ww2 for a much more developed nation than real italy
So instead of being remembered as a joke and as the sawdust Caesar like in real life, Mussolini is remembered as the guy who restored Rome to its former glory in this alternate world? Interesting, he must've either been a genius or the Romans had the skill level of the real life Germans in military matters......
Great video Btw if anyone that is a fan of rome here remember its infulence is still around us and remeber this san marino is the last remanent of rome if you think about it :D which is why i beleive rome hasent fallen but instead it has evolved to remain around us without our knowlege
They might be roman but they are not a successor to the empire as they never claimed to be the empire as well the fact they willingly split off from the empire and weren't forced like the Dalmatians Soissons Gwyneth and Altava.
It was the remnant of the Roman province of Gaul. In this timeline they conquered the franks instead of the alternative that occurred in our timeline when the franks conquered syagrius.
Very odd that rome would just be able to conquer most of half and restore their original borders without hundreds of nationalist rebellions everywhere, but nice video nonetheless
This late Roman Empire that you named and rebirth of a new Italy with imperialist aspirations would never have been able to invade the territories of the Frankish kingdom because they were the strongest among the barbarian peoples, it is true that the Franks were constantly in civil war but they united if they had to face a foreign invader. and in the time of Charlemagne the Frankish army exceeded 100,000 very well-trained soldiers. in the Balkans they would hardly have stayed in the coastal areas for a while because there were the peoples of the second barbarian wave that arrived in the 6th century as the Avars, Slavs and Bulgarians who shook the Eastern Roman Empire in its maximum splendor and on top of it the they weakened a lot in the military. nor would it have been crossed to Italy to invade North Africa or the Middle East during the empire of the Umayyad Caliphate because it had 200,000 very well-trained religious fanatics who, in 3 decades, made the sasanid empire disappear and also took land away from the empire Eastern Roman in the Middle East and as soon as the Caliphate arrived in Spain, Italy's stay in Spain would have been short-lived. Another thing is that Charlemagne joined the church of Rome but he stayed with Italian territories, he did not go free to liberate Italy from Lombard subjugation. But Charlemagne would never have accepted an invasion of Italy in Frankish territory and that is why he would invade Italy. above if Italy had territories in Germany Charlemagne would have subjected them to vassalage. only the pope ensured that Charlemagne did not invade Italy, as long as Italy did not invade Frankish territories. If Italy had maritime trade and a military fleet, Arab and Viking pirate raids would have greatly weakened the Italian economy and destroyed the Roman fleet. Italy in the disintegration of the Carolingian Empire could have liberated Italy from Carolingian subjugation and then invade the southern areas of France and Germany. Another thing is that the German Oton I had not accepted an Italian invasion and would have reached the gates of Rome because of insolent things that with gold given by the pope he would have agreed not to invade Rome but would have stayed with northern Italy. the rebirth of the new imperial rome would have died by the year 1000 because they tried several times but found themselves with difficulties on all fronts and the mentality of the rich and poor of italy would have been otherwise. then with the Norman conquest of southern Italy in the 11th and 12th centuries, which on top of that, northern Italy is in the hands of the Germanic nobility with imperial protection. Only Tuscany would be free of invaders and only by the influence of the church it is not invaded.
The video was definitely unrealistic, I agree to that. However I suggest you go back and read the events because: A: The frankish kingdom never rose in the first place due to them losing the war against the kingdom of soissons (in this video soissons was named the kingdom of gaul because it makes more sense) B: Italy was one of the strongest and richest kingdoms during the fall of rome period (Odoacer and Theodoric's kingdom both) which had the capability to exert authority outside of their borders unlike many other kingdoms. What I am getting to here is that without the gothic wars dragging on two decades, italy would have remained in such a stable state with a good economy and a large population. In fact, the city of rome itself would still have had a relatively large population. Not only does this effect the population and economy, the national identity of the kingdom also remains united. There would be no north/south divide, no fragmentation of the peninsula. Instead you have a strong, united, and wealthy kingdom which could definitely be just as powerful as Charlemagne in our timeline. C: Italy and Gaul in this video were allies, hence why the gallic kingdom sent forces down south to help defend italy against justinian's reconquest. The reason Italy gained territory in gaul was due to the muslim expansion in the region. Italy and Gaul both pushed the caliphate's forces out together and during the fight the italians occupied territories in gallic territory that the muslims had taken and at the end of the war did not return them to gaul. Instead, they annexed parts of the kingdom and vassalized gaul's remnant. Overall, there would be major changes in this timeline: -No frankish kingdom -No Holy Roman Empire -Italy would be an offensive force and would be united over a thousand years earlier than in our timeline -No fourth crusade on the eastern romans Does this justify everything that happened in the video? Absolutely not, however it doesn't make it horrifyingly unrealistic. Though, I do appreciate the comment. I do plan on making more alternate history videos in the future with less border changes. The one trend people tend to make when discussing flaws in my alternate histories are the borders changing too easily, and I agree.
Tfw you Napoleon fails to reform the Roman Empire but Mussolini succeeds
Yeah u could see it that way too but i think that he made mussolini dictator in 1933 so we could compare roman empire's war machine to nazi germany's and basically the allies were just gaul, germany and england, perhaps america (new rome) helped the restorer of it's heritage and russia isnt involved so it is a very easy ww2 for a much more developed nation than real italy

The legacy of Rome has came full circle, now the legacy of Rome rising and falling will be infinite.
Wouldn't gaul be francia or is it syagrius domain?
It was the remnant of the Roman province of Gaul. In this timeline they conquered the franks instead of the alternative that occurred in our timeline when the franks conquered syagrius.

Probably Georgia Meloni which is a Nationalist modern day italian politician. But if Fascism stopped existing in Rome after the Duce's death then idk.
