I am Nephi Acaling. I am native to Bacolod City but currently living outside the Philippines due to job assignment. I’ve lived in different countries like Singapore, Japan and United States due to job assignments. I was in the US when I started this channel thus the confusion to some where I am truly based.
At a time, I was a band vocalist performing every Friday and Saturday night at a local bar chain but recently decided to quit from my band to focus on my TH-cam Channel and my full-time job as an engineer.
I was a member of the Filipino Voice Symphony where I was taught by professional chorale singers (e.g. former soprano from UP Madrigal Singers). Our choral group actually bagged the Gold Medal in the International A cappella Championships held in Singapore in 2011.
I was the Glee Club president and was a trainer for various singing competitions when I was in the university - all these were humbling experiences for me.
WHAT IS THE GOAL?
My mission is to promote music among different regions and try to make people from different countries relate to each other through music and singing. I have always believed that even small gestures in understanding similarities and differences towards others may actually lead to greater awareness about countries and their people.
In this modern world full of things that divide humanity, it is but perfect to put efforts in re-uniting and building bridges among all of us.
I have come to a point of trying to find a greater purpose in life, something beyond just being happy for a moment. Happiness in life is more meaningful if we choose to be useful, be honorable, be compassionate, and make a difference.

As you already know Nephi, 12 songs will fight in AJL to get the title Song of The Year. Long years ago, all 12 songs in AJL have been categorized into 3 big categories which is Balade, Pop Rock and Tradisional. Each category will has one winner. Compared to recent AJL that only awarded as 3rd, 2nd and 1st place. Among all these three winners by category, one of them will be awarded as Song of The Year.
All these three songs win the Best Song for Traditional Category.
Ghazal Untuk Rabiah by Jamal Abdillah feat. M.Nasir in AJL1997.
Cindai by Siti Nurhaliza in AJL1998.
Mimpi Laila by Yassin in AJL2001
And all of these three songs also win Song of The Year.
