Vigen and Delkash did this song when I was only eleven. I am now seventy-three, going on to be seventy-four soon. It is from the late fifties. By the way, Delkash means Ravishing!
Delkash was one of the icon in our classical music . She was before hayedeh and she had a powerful voice. In one of thoes hayedeh interviews, she said that I listened to delkash when I was so young and practiced with her music ...
1- Your ability to enjoy a foreign song ( there is a foreignness in them at least at the start) is phenomenal. If we train our ear to enjoy songs in different styles from various countries from different times then we have access to an endless treasure. 2- This song was one of my grandmother's favorite. It reminds of one one of those sunny days that she had done all her routine cookings, cleanings and gardening and was replaying her favorite songs in her Sony steel frame cassette player. I was a 5 year old boy who was idling around around her. I was a little bit bored but would enjoy order and peacefulness of her home. This song probably itched one of those times in my memory. My grandmother is still alive. She cannot walk without her walker and cannot cook. But she loves life, good songs and good movies. I am sure when she surfs channels of her satellite TV she stops on Vigen or Delkash. I can see even the twinkle in her eyes. 3- I should call her today!
To me, Delkash is like Etta James. Both of them take me back to the time when I was a little kid. My mother was a great fan of Delkash and my father was a great fan of Etta James and our house was filled with their voice. What a time
We are playing this song tomorrow for my Amazing Uncle Iraj Karimi, Just listening to it, bring tears to my face, Remembering those good old days, I remember seeing Vegan and Goo-gosh rehearsing in Talar Roodaki, My other late uncle Qumars was the Head of that place amd we would go there as kids and watch them in rehearsal, only thing is that we were a couple of hyper active kids, and did not appropriate what we are being exposed to. God I would I do anything for just a few of those moments. One by one these Incredible generation who packed up and left everything behind after revelation, and started all over in a strange country, they were just incredibly Brave, They did all of this for their kids to have a better and brighter future. They just Don't Make them like they Used To!. To All of those who sacrificed much and suffered so much, Thank you, May God Bless All of you for paving the way for the rest of us. Thank you for your Review, this beautiful song. Vegan Was Simply Amazing, he did not have to try, he had an incredible gift. I subscribed and posted. Bordi Az Yadam which means “you forgot me” in Farsi, is a duet performed around 1957 by two of the Persian Pop Music Pioneers; Delkash and Vigen.
Hello - Thanks for the reaction to this memorable song. delkash is the strongest voice among Iranian female singers after Ghamralmoluk Vaziri and the strongest Iranian female singer in singing songs correctly. (No falsh) Much higher than the precious Hayedeh and the rest of the female singers in tahrir. tahrir is a rhythmic sound in the performance of a song that is quickly cut and connected with the help of the laryngeal muscles. It is also called chirping or chirping and the writing is considered to be an imitation of chirping birds such as nightingales.
Finally, you've seen in Iran, thank you for showing the Iranian music to others, I don't know why you think we're bad people, and some foreigners say go to Arabic, don't read history, don't be about us if that's how you're German.
Vigen also have duet with Pooran and Elahe etc. which those days was golden time of Iran befor people get crazy and make revolution without understanding the future, and I'm sure many of Iranians are regret about what happened after revolution 1979.
English Translation: You Forgot Me You forgot me, you devastated me, I'm only happy with the thought of you I fell in love with you, I fell into this trap, I'm free of sorrow
I fell in love with you, I was trapped O my flower, do not smirk when you see my bloody tears I'm still burning by the flame of your glances I'm still waiting for you
What happened to all the promises, which I heard from those smiling lips, which were never fulfilled
When will you come to me, O candle of my dawn Come sit for a moment at my banquet, my dear, I will sacrifice my soul
I'd be honored if you come to me and give life to my body Since my fruitless life is coming to an end
My heart is covered with the dust of sorrow, since I'm in the land of sorrow and have become sorrow's companion You are the hope of abiding lovers, you have wronged me14 You plague my soul
You forgot me, you devastated me, I'm only happy with the thought of you I fell in love with you, I fell into this trap, I'm free of sorrow

I kind of stumbled into it on TH-cam. Then I enjoyed learning about the music of Iran, and the country and region. The food and customs followed. Such amazing architecture and arts ❤️
Translation in English: You forgot me and ruined my life ,still I'm happy with the thought of you Gave you my heart, fell in a trap, still I'm free of any sorrow Gave you my heart, got imprisoned You dear flower! laugh not on my tears of blood I still burn out of the fire of your eyes My eyes still awaits you What did happen to all those commitments? Now I'm hearing you laughing but never see you again When will you ever come to me again? you candle of my morning dawn Breathe in my embrace till I die Give your life to me Because my life is about to end. what a useless life! My heart is collecting dust I'm the most sorrowful man in the land of sorrow You are my only hope. You are the one who chose a wrong path You're a curse in my life You forgot me and ruined my life ,still I'm happy with the thought of you Gave you my heart, fell in a trap, still I'm free of any sorrow Gave you my heart, got imprisoned You dear flower! laugh not on my tears of blood I still burn out of the fire of your eyes My eyes still awaits you
Just take a close look of the picture of Delkash and Vigen. The way she is holding the cigarette and her pose is way too cool. She was cool when no one knew what cool meant.
Great video, thanks. I suggest you check out "Jaane Maryam" by Mohammad Nouri, who is truly nothing short of Mohammadreza shajariaan. I know you listened to Jaane Maryam by Sara Naiieni once and she is great too, but the original one by Nouri is really something else. Good luck.

If you like duets: Booye Jooye Mulian th-cam.com/video/zfV0wQDphzU/w-d-xo.html The poem is from Rudaki, 10th century. The king at the time had gone hunting and wouldn't return. The court asked Rudaki to compose a song (he played harp) to convince the king to come back to Bokhara. PS. There is a great debate between Delkash and Marzie voices. They both had a strong fanbase. :)
This is so tough! :))) I'm not sure you can handle BOUY-E JOUY-E MOULIAN! :))) Btw, dude! You are so far the only reacter who is dealing so well with 50s persian singers. Truly, I'm so impressed! And also i enjoy the way you are using the song as well as enjoying it. It's like you're studying it, you know? Liked it so much! bon appetit! 😁✌️
Sure it’s a love song but the broken heart story might just fit as description of the loss of the once lovely Persia. Rafte rahe khata toi, dar dam oftadam, fetadam be band, ey gol bar ashke khuninam bekhand, che shod az hame peyman? Ey shame saharam… Then came the revolution.
South Dakota. I am a Norwegian American who has loved Persian music for 38 years.
