Thank you for Hieromonk Seraphim Aldea's Guidance on Prayer. I really love his talks, which I find are in Reality,, Real Prayer, as sincerity is so apparent. Thank you for your Dedication and Love to The Blessed Trinity and Most Holy Theotokos, which assists and enables us to find the Way to God, Hieromonk Seraphim Aldea. Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy.
These videos are both challenging and interesting! I'm currently a protestant but I'm thinking of becoming orthodox. I will try to put some of these prayer ideas into my life. God bless!
I'll be converting to Orthodoxy from Protestant after Holy Week. The Orthodox are a well spring of faith and knowledge. I've never felt more at peace with my faith , then when I'm at an Orthodox Church. God bless.
I was a protestant, became norse pagan, then roman catholic, now I am a catechumen in Orthodoxy. Mine is a bit of a windy road. He calls us to Him and sometimes it's right away, sometimes he lets us make mistakes so that we can realise how much we are not in control. I am a huge control freak. I have never experienced the agape love anywhere else Orthodoxy is where it is. It is home for me. COntinue to pray about it XX
I am not really 'converting' as I am getting baptised for the first time to begin with. I was searching for a long time to find something 'more' and now I am finally getting there. Went from atheist, to agnostic, to being interested (not practicing or anything) in buddhism and hinduism to finally finding what I was searching for. I come from an orthodox country but I grew up in a former catholic/protestant country (is basically atheist now) and what I thought I knew about christianity was mostly from what I learned at the catholic elementary school that I went to and various cliché's that are thrown at you living in an atheistic Western society. God Bless!
Forgive me if this comment was posted twice. I just wanted to say that I appreciate how honest Fr seraphim is, and that he speaks very directly and simply about matters. So helpful. Thanks for posting.
This was very helpful and actually edifies some of the prayers that I have been doing, particularly when I see strangers on my walking trail who are Down cast or just looking miserable. Thank you for the encouragement to just keep praying.
Christos Anesti! Thank you Fr. Seraphim, as a recent convert to Orthodoxy, (6 months) I have found your TH-cam videos, to be a wonderful tool to help me in my journey. Your delivery of basic truths have resonated and enlightened me. I say basic because I’m not capable of grasping deeper truths, yet. I’m still such a baby in Orthodoxy and also, coming from a Protestant background, I have had to turn my thinking around. My Nouna, (Godmother) will sometimes say, in answer to a question, “You’re thinking about that from a western mindset. You need to read the Ancient Fathers or books written by Orthodox writers, for a while, until you understand eastern religious thought.” You see I’ve still been clinging to some books by Protestant theologians and Protestant logic in general that seemed ‘reasonable’ to me. I’ve been trying to straddle both western and eastern mindsets to ‘make sense’ of it all. I am so glad I found you. I also plan to listen to your podcasts at Ancient Faith Ministries. God bless you. Suzanne
Thank you for this video, I’m very excited to find out about the monastery in Mull as I’m in Britain. Also I love this as I’m learning more about Orthodoxy it’s speaking more and more truths to me. God bless
I learn so much from this channel, and I’m pleased to see more from Father Seraphim. I hope to learn more from him, and hopefully in person one day. ☦️
Thank you for posting this interview by Fr Seraphim. I have been looking at everything I can find on him and what he says and it never fails to bless and teach me.
I can continously listen to Father Seraphim and everytime I keep on learning new things. Every time different words vibrate, and hopefully I will get it in the end. I am very happy that father Seraphim is real! God bless!
Thank you. I will try harder. You are so right about the "drying up." I was inspired by your insight about our being a work in progress. We are not a finished creation yet. I am 75. I want to try to remember what your said. God bless you.
Thank you so much for this interview and your channel, which I just found! This interview is incredibly helpful to me! In his gentle yet direct manner, Hieromonk Seraphim has helped me understand that I am a work in progress and its ok to be trying different types of prayer, its ok to change my prayer style (in fact its good!) and that reading our Holy Fathers IS prayer! I always doubt myself and think I'm doing my practices wrong and chaotically. Hieromonk Seraphim makes me feel that its to be expected not because I'm wrong but because I'm still forming as a person! I need not be so critical of myself, just keep praying all these different ways, accept my infancy as a person and let go of that wasteful self critique about that aspect of my spiritual journey at least! Thank You! God Bless Everyone!
Hello, I just found this blessed channel and wonderful Hieromonk Seraphim Aldea and WoW!!! So much advice and comfort from his thoughts and help. Thank and God bless you always ☦
There is a very important aspect of Orthodoxy that is looking at the viewer right in the face in his sermon... and that is - Orthodoxy leads you towards God to the certain point and let's you go further by yourself. It is by mean of finding your own path. Brother Seraphim talks about experimenting and looking for a best way that accommodates you in your path. That path can't be generalized... it must be a unique for every single one of us. Because we are unique persons.!
Prayer to me is just talking to God. He already knows I'm not perfect. I say the Jesus Prayer once or twice a day, on a 33-bead prayer rope I got from the Holy monks at Mt. Athos (sent off for it). Otherwise I just talk to God. I ask Him to make me more patient and merciful, and I pray for loved ones and for the people in Syria, Palestine, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, and any other Peoples who are invaded and occupied by "powerful" nations. I was a Baptist as a child and young adult, so I don't know any formulaic prayers and have read little of the saints or the Church fathers. I am studying Orthodoxy-I know the Orthodox Church is the original Church, and is still the only Church. I am still learning-there is a lot to learn about Orthodoxy! Lots of history and lots of tradition, lots of saints and Church fathers that I knew nothing about as a Baptist. Also, its a different vocabulary and I am learning the phrases Orthodox Christians say. Baptists have a different set of phrases. Highest respect for Father Seraphim Aldea, have watched his videos before and I know he is sincere in his love for God.
Not everything must be so perfect! The important thing is his message! Some preachers lay too much importance of how everything is arranged and perceived. So, it feels more true and authentic in this way. At least, for me.
@@MKadi-eq3hp True to an extent, but if people are aware that a recording is being made then they should try to cough silently / not slam doors out of respect.
Christ is Risen! I appreciate the feedback...it was a challenge as this was my first attempt at a "town hall" type interview. Perhaps next time I'll put up signs to remind people to try to be as quiet as possible...
I started doing the Jesus prayer 25 times a day since I’m new to this and to be honest it makes me kind of sad and shameful because I think about all my sin but it’s good to reduce my pride.

Great talk by Father Seraphim. Something to listen to again and again....especially when prayer becomes rote, dry and 'not from the heart'.

Must be a great experience living as a monk. Great videos! He went deep; I never looked at myself the way Father explained. Great advice!

A true man of God, beautifully helpful advice
Thank you, amazing. Very heartening, and 'liberating' in a truly Christian sense of the term.

Our safety nets keep us from falling to the biggest safety net of all, because we still doubt there is one. Even if we have seen it or felt it.
Oof. As soon as he said “potential persons” I had to pause and let that sink in.
Humbling and sobering, indeed...
There was no reference to the noetic Jesus Prayer or Prayer of the Heart. Just curious as to why not?
God's will is our will when we ask in a way like praying as a child. God is a child caring Father and he wants your will to be his will.
@War Stories & Life Changing Advice that goes without say, however many other variations were addressed. I would think it is worthy of mention
We are being created? We are in the process of being made? Who then is making us?

This is much like meditation, but focusing on the holy spirit
Great video except for the background noise and coughing.

Everythjng he said in the beginning is completely wrong and backwards
God is a person?
the introductions I find are unnecessary oftentimes
He could use our held to buy himself a luxury BnB to live in.
I find this disturbing. There is no assurance of salvation.
And now these three remain: faith, HOPE and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Cor 13,13)
Read The Ladder of Divine Ascent. “assurance “ is a heresy
