back in the day, i prepped and repainted a 75 landcruiser SWB, years later I replaced a rear quarter panel on a XF ute ( used a little beaver spray gun on both with great results ). what i learnt from both projects, it is hard yakka, but worth it in the end. Prep is everything and this video brings back those memories. Time and patience is the key, great work Tim, look forward to seeing the end result
Bloody good work. Great to see the engine in the middle where it should have been from Factory. I cannot wait to see it fully dressed in undercoat and even better ......... hear the sucker fire up and growl!. Keep up the fantastic work Tim.
Nice job with the fabrication of the hood and mounts ! I didn't like it of center but not enough to do that lol. i can't wait to see the supercharger boost!
I just put my t2 engine in and was like shit i put it in crooked some how! I was like welp its all hooked up i tried shifting it ... Didn't work so i left it not remembering there all crooked! Thats cool that your fixing that! Why not pull engine 1 inch forward also? Love your supercharger build i really want to do something similar but i think the m90 is a little small im thinking the m112 ... Hmm all in due time i have the engine and chassis and i have a old microtec ecu...
I did think about bringing it forward but that would move the gear stick forward in the console and that doesn't really work well. I am very keen to see if the M90 pushes enough air to make decent power but time will tell
I reckon that bonnet looks much better now Tim, I prefer symmetry on a car and have never liked offset visuals. for the pulleys would it be too much work to reduce the size of the harmonic bottom pulley to keep the rpm down on a smaller top pulley?
Thanks mate, it would be a lot of work to make a new lower pulley and also a fair bit of money as I would have to buy another chunk of alloy and start again.
Not cool to cut up the t2 hood people need them and would have payed good money for it 😢 you could have sold it and got a regular fc one and got any kind of hood scoop from summit racing
I don't disagree mate but over here they aren't really worth that much money. I didn't want to cut it up but it was the best way to achieve the look and function I needed.

Thanks Frank,
Your dead right saying it's all in the prep work. The more time you put in at that stage the better the end results will be.

Still a bloody long way to go but hopefully one day soon it will burst to life.
I have to say that if i was only half as competent as you are i would be a happy man. Great vids keep em coming sir.
Thank you mate, sometimes it's just a matter of diving and giving it a go.

Hi Tim, one thing i don't understand is, if you centre the engine, how does it affect the transmission geometry ? cheers Frank
It has moved the gear stick location slightly to the passenger side but not enough to cause any sort of issue.
Not one tear cutting up a steal turbo 2 hood... In America they our all aluminum! Way way lighter!
I would of loved an alloy bonnet to keep the weight down
