You even made the missed line look good! I know paddling is a niche sport and not the most popular worldwide, but you should be cruising in the 10's of thousands of sub's. I got in my first canoe 40 years ago almost to the day, but I reckon I could learn more from you in an hour than in all that time combined....reckon I could still take you in a tidal river though, lol. ;)
Haha, well let's just say that I was very happy not to flip my canoe in front of the tourists (and their cameras). Appreciate the comment and very kind words. Not too worried about numbers, just like sharing with like-minded people and canoe enthusiasts. Yep, no doubt you could take me on a tidal river:) Hope I get to try someday!! Thanks, take care.
Hi there, we really enjoy your videos, and want to know if you have ever done the McLeod from peers alberta to whitecourt. I cannot find any footage anywhere for that Canoe float I was wondering if you might have some insight for me as we would like to do that mid summer.
Hello, and thanks very much. I haven't paddled the McLeod past Peers (Hwy 32), but from what I have heard it is quite tame and mellow. There is supposed to be a "canyon section" in that stretch, but should be no rapids to worry about. I have only found one video showing part of this section. I'm not sure where exactly they put-in, but I think it is closer to Whitecourt than Peers. th-cam.com/video/BTaJ0RZfgKQ/w-d-xo.html
That’s bad ass man.. gunna have to get out on a few floats next summer..I was wavering on which canoe to get for a few summers now but went with a packraft instead. So I’ll be messaging you soon for some float lessons.Maybe learn a thing or two from the legend himself.
Hey thanks very much Bo. Yeah we'll hit some rivers for sure. I've never been in a packraft, but would gladly help where I can. I definitely have some rivers in mind we could try, get you in some nice current. Sweet man, I'm stoked.
Hey Nick, great Vid as usual. Sort of a related question about the north Saskatchewan in Edmonton. Do you know roughly how long it takes to canoe from the Devon bridge to the Capilano Boat launch?
Hi John, thanks very much. Devon to Capilano is about 50 kms, with some pretty slow current. Depending on flow (and/or wind), it could be a long day, say 6-10 hours, give or take. But a nice trip, a great way to see the city!! Hope that helps, safe paddling!!
It got some new scratches and gouges, but had plenty to begin with:) Yeah it was a good rush, an exciting way to end the day. Stay safe as well Dana, thank you for watching.
Absolute Legend material right there!! So sick!
Haha, you're far too kind. Thanks Matty.
@@nickharland3795 that's gnarly stuff man!
Awesome. Such a foreign thing for me to see rapids on the North Saskatchewan. Where I live it's such a calm river. Very cool video!
Thanks very much. Yeah it calms down pretty good after Rocky Mt. house. Definitely some nice rapids up-river in Banff National Park.

Again, great (second) perspective. A luxury to bring your own camera woman 😄.
Spectacular place you live.
Thanks again Udo. Haha, yeah it is definitely a luxury. Banff and Jasper are two of my favorite places to visit. Take care.
A great run on a great river. Maybe you didn't have much time to catch the views!! It's all good when the boat stays in one piece!
Thanks very much. Haha, yeah it certainly could have been worse, glad I didn't swamp or capsize. Thanks for watching, take care.
