I hope you get a second Sinistar game in. I'd love to own one. This game used to scare the crap out of me! "I HUNGER!!!!"... I was 9yo when it was released and OMG... freaky!
Man, I loved this game! Many, many ,many quarters spent on this when I was a kid. Sinistar's voice will be with me forever. Awesome restoration. You do good work. Also I did not know you had TH-cam channel. Gonna sub now because you guys are great. I always enjoyed your infomercials.
Looks like you guys have a lot of fun doing this. I really enjoyed the workplace banter as well as the showcase of all the cool things you did with the game! Wish I'd been around when arcade games were at their peak. I'm stuck just watching videos on them for now.
It's great to see you guys showcasing such an iconic arcade title! Would you mind if I used a few clips of this video in an upcoming video essay I'm doing on the game? Basically, I want to convince my audience Sinistar is one of the scariest arcade games of all time. Your footage would be great to have while speaking about the history segment. Let me know what you think!
Just found out about this channel. Beautiful arcade machine and great video. I love the dedication, the incredible knowledge and passion, as well as the hard work, the technical solutions and improvements you put on this machine. Amazing!
I picked up a classic video game cartridge for my SNES last week. When Sinistar does that roar it scares my dog. LOL! He doesn't like Sinistar's voice either. Before I bought that cartridge,I haven't seen a Sinistar game for years. It's a hard game. I can't get past level 2. I was watching the history of Sinistar. Evidently they went to the zoo and recorded a lions roar for Sinistar. That's pretty bad ass. I AM SINISTAR 🦁
Hell yeah! I played it once or twice and it forever changed my arcade life . I was terrified and didn't want to see or hear his voice in the arcades!! 😂😂🤣🤣
I was one of the few who liked Bubbles. It was a fun game. Sinistar was also good though. I don’t remember either being around long at my local arcades though.
I found the Sinistar game that was the experiment model: Ships control panel overlay, pinball SS coin door and XP0123 as the serial number. and a hand painted W logo on the side... It is the exact game pictured in the PROMO flyer.. wish Robert Mical could verify....
R.I. P. Python :( ....now on to business! Great video guys (as usual); Sinistar is on my short list of dream games to own. You mentioned the cockpit version but you are aware of the limited run of Sinistars in the black Duramold cabinets (along with Blaster; also some Bubbles were made in blue Duramold cabinets) not to mention the "rumored" cocktail Sinistar as well?
Yes...saw one of both Sinistar and Bubbles at our distributor when the game was new...vendors thought they were ugly and didn't order them...said they looked like trash cans!
hey TNT Amusements Inc i got a black duramold williams cab, no pcb i think the monitor is the original, no marquee either, do you know how many of those were made? and how many have of those have been through your shop?
TNT Amusements Inc thanks for responding! and wow the more i know about it the rarer it seems, is the PCB also hard to find? i dont know if i should keep it or trade it for something cool
Sinistar failed because it came out too late, just as the arcade industry was collapsing, and they made a game for the peak of the arcade industry where people would happily throw quarters at anything, so they made the game stupidly hard. When they first made the game, the average playtime for its in house testers was 3 minutes, and they decided that was too long! So they added the Sinistar to make it just 2 minutes. By the time this came out in 1983, there were no longer lines of people putting their quarters on the bezel to play next. So making a game with such a quick turnaround was a negative. The much fewer people that were still going to arcades weren't going to waste a quarter for 2 minutes of game play when other games could give them 10 minutes or more, eve if they weren't that good. Williams simply got greedy.
I have a multicade, and it does not have sinibomb button. I only have a fire button a player one and two button both of those do nothing. Besides take you to the main menu were you select the game.
TNT Amusements Inc I don't run from fights, I win them! Now what is it going to take for me to... SINISTAR: RUN! RUN! RUN! (*BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!*) I AM SINISTAR.
John 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Pick up the crystals to make Sinibombs. And next, Sinistar is built by Workers, and also, Workers tries to stealing crystals to construct the Sinistar. Use Sinibomb buttons to destroy the Sinistar.
There was nothing like this game when it came out.
It drew some attention when released...but didn;t have a broad appeal I think.
The games Williams made were great. Also not forgetting Defender and Robotron
I hope you get a second Sinistar game in. I'd love to own one. This game used to scare the crap out of me! "I HUNGER!!!!"... I was 9yo when it was released and OMG... freaky!
Yes...he was NOT a pleasant enemy!

Original game has spanish and english texts
I was one of the few who liked Bubbles. It was a fun game. Sinistar was also good though. I don’t remember either being around long at my local arcades though.

I am sure Ron Howard noticed!
the guy who designed the game said in a video commentary on the cd-rom version of Willians Arcade Classics. he jokingly called the game Opiestar LOL
