    5:40 Great capture. That’s terrifying. This is exactly the example of why Leslie’s are haunting if you don’t know a thing of trains and you’re on these tracks alone at night

    I've seen a few Warbonnets and Bluebonnets with Leslies, good times... Now I rarely hear any Leslies, but BNSF 529 still has it's Leslie to this day.

    Nothing like the sound of those old Leslie horns. Growing up here in California around the Santa Fe, I could hear them all night at Guernsey. These horns now sound like an electronic buzz like "God's Dial Tone"

    I remember back when I was younger, I would railfan Gainesville more often. Many times I would leave with nothing, but there could also be the chance of seeing something remarkable.

      Gainesville is not what it used to be, but it still is by far my favorite place to go for railfanning.

    RS3K horns were rare on NS. The RS3K's on NS were on EX-BN SD40-2's. One Dash 9 had one too. These were the other NS SD40-2's that had RS3K's.

    Least we forget the fact that the FRA is wholly responsible for the death of Leslie’s on class 1s

    • @LocoPro
      @LocoPro  ปีที่แล้ว

      Is that so?

    • @thedwaynerailfans
      @thedwaynerailfans ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LocoProits not lol. while the fra did mandate decible regulations, the real reason why railroads turned away from leslies is because they are more expensive to maintain and get weaker way faster than most nathans, especially in cold weather. nathans do better in performance and in various weather conditions. theyre easier to maintain as well. leslies are still produced afaik, theyre just not standard on anything anymore
