Love this video! Thank you for your valuable work. I had a rescue 12 years ago & she had clinical separation anxiety. I had her for 2 years & she was highly reactive & heavily medicated. The time limit aspect is real. Now I have a puppy & the breed are prone to separation anxiety. So I have been building in crate time from day dot. So many click bait titles like 'I cured my dog from SA in 6 weeks!' If only. The building in cues with duration is on point. Thank you so much
OMG this channel is the only channel that ACCUALLY explains what to do or not to do in real panick and anxiety cases. Thnls you so much for sharing this knowledge! ❤️
Hi, Jenna. Ur video is very helpful for me to train my dog and really taught me a lot of dog training skills. Do u mind me to upload ur video to Bilibili? It is a popular China video sites, and I will label that’s ur video. Or maybe I highly recommend u can upload ur high-quality dog training videos by urself to Bilibili. Since in China more and more dog owners disgust to use violence to solve dog behavior problems, and they are seeking for good dog training skills now.
I've been reading Malena DeMartini-Prices book and trying to follow the separation anxiety protocol as an owner - we're in the very early phases, so still learning a lot, but I've been having trouble finding an answer to one thing. If my dog is tired we can do a lot more (makes sense), but sometimes when I do training when she's excersised but more awake (morning or mid-day) she starts trying to door-bolt after one or two rounds of entrances and exits. It seems to worsen with shorter exits (with or without triggers), but improve with longer ones. Is that a sign of her hitting threshold? Working with a trainer on some other issues, but not a specialized separation anxiety expert. Thanks so much for all of this wonderful info you are sharing!
P.S. Watched this video when it came out and the pajamas comment has stuck with me XD Definitely been vascilating between triggers and duration, but have experienced the chill of ~4min in pajamas and slippers on the front porch XD
We're dog owners, not guardians . The dogs are not Moving Out on their own. When they're adults. Not to mention legally, a dog is considered your property, we don't need politically, correct dog training . Here's the goal. The goal is for your dog to not be anxious and remain calm. When you leave the house, that's the goal, it doesn't matter what you're going to do. I'm leaving the house. The dog needs feel comfortable being alone for periods of time. I really don't need to diagnose dogs with mental health disorders. Are you using the diagnostic and statistical manual For dogs, I didn't know there was one. You're not giving your dog trauma, because you have to walk out the front door. I would love to see some scientific data on the things that you're talking about. Stop incorporating this new progressive. Woke type thinking . You can tell somebody it should only take you. This amount of time to learn this gobbly cook, but there's no limit or at least a range of time that we can expect results.Maybe you don't want to put a time limit on how long it might take to help the dog.Because it takes a long time.Listening to this ridiculous advice.

Not your grandparents dog training ? You're right about that, my grandparents dog training actually worked, this doesn't.
