For the ones who ask why are there some french ambulances, well it´s easy: as the nearest hospital in France is quite far (about 30-40 minutes) for the biggest emergencies, they juste bring the patient in Geneva, which is much faster. Moreover, sometimes, French ambulances take swiss patients (for the ones who are nearer from a French emergency service but want to be brought to Geneva) to the Geneva University Hospital. It's really a good system I think!
(2 yrs later) actually they don't. As Geneva is "surrounded" by France, sometimes they take the shortcut through geneva to go from one side to another ;)

Il arrive que les pompiers français amènent des patients aux hôpitaux universitaires genevois (HUG). Ça n'a rien d'exceptionnel.
