This is the most underrated channel on TH-cam
Thanks! It keeps growing steadily. Hopefully, soon it will really take off. I appreciate you taking the time to watch.
There should be a lottery to go fishing with Steve!
Let’s like, share, & subscribe! Steve is so close to 10k subs and super underrated and overlooked let’s blow this mans channel up!
Thanks! I super appreciate it.
Wow sometimes I think you make these videos specifically for me, like I'll go out fishin get a couple bites and never really know the "why". It's kinda funny but I get a lot of my questions answered here, thanks man I agree with the last person this is a seriously underrated channel
Thanks! All this filming has really helped me out a lot as well. It seems like I learn something new each time I go out.
You have the most useful information a bass fisherman could ask for! Thanks so much for what you do!
Thanks! That means a lot to me.
Steve, I just found your channel a few weeks ago and unlike most fishing TH-camrs, you almost always tie in us bank anglers into your content. Please know its very much appreciated!!!
Thank you! I try to always include bank anglers, but I know sometimes I forget. I don't know the actual numbers, but I am sure there are many more anglers that fish from shore. I appreciate you watching!
I always find it amusing, and I’m guilty if this also, that boat anglers tend to beat the shoreline, and bank anglers tend to launch their baits out into the lake as far as they can. Steve, you have once again proven the concepts of true structure fishing: that all depths must be fished, and that bass relate to breaks and break lines. My hero Buck Perry would be proud of you and nodding his approval. The viewers are right-your underwater vids offer something no one else can do-you have a special niche and use your gifts well. Thanks and keep up the great work. You will continue to grow subs I’m sure!
Thanks! I often think about that too how two types of anglers throw opposite directions. There have been days when I get the boat really shallow and cast out and have had some great days doing that. Thanks so much for watching!
Steve thanks for all the great tips.
Great video and camera work..... ur channel is the best bass fishing channel on u tube.. Thank u for your hard work and sharing ur knowledge on fish behavior. Waiting on open water in SD
Hopefully, it opens soon for you. I was out for a little bit today and the water has dropped back down to 39 degrees. It was cold out there for sure. Thank you so much for watching!
@Steve Rogers Outdoors usually opens first week of April... been a long winter here
Love the underwater video! This is very helpful. I will now do some parallel casts when working my way back to spawning flats instead of just casting to shoreline cover. Thanks Steve.
Glad it was helpful!
That is awsome footage Steve. This has happened to me several times were I beat the bank and don't catch anything. This will make me rethink my approach. Great channel!!
Thanks! Good luck. I hope it helps out.
Well done. Learning a lot from your teaching...thanks for all your effort!
Thanks! And thank you for watching.
I found your channel while checking out others…I can’t believe I didn’t know about you before today…awesome video, and awesome tactical advice…Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching.
Thanks Steve, have been reading up on this just hammers it home. Tight lines.
That’s awesome! Glad it helped out.
Hey, Steve, great to see ya and great info. Thanks. Be safe
You too! Have a blessed weekend!
Hey Steve I think Alot of times anglers don't think about fishing deep as much as we should for instance I use to use fish this small pond that was infested with weeds and I would go in there and cast to the shore and not get bit and then finally one day I turned my seat around and immediately started catching bass because I was casting into deeper weed or as you say of the first drop. Thanks professor Steve awesome stuff and God bless you and your family. Ps Steve I think that was my car tire ha ha.
Lol. I can't believe how many tires are in this lake. I find them all over the place. Have a wonderful evening!
@@SteveRogersOutdoors Steve I found it fascinating that the bass would stop and hang out next to the tire.
It never ceases to amaze me that when we think the bass have "pulled out deep", as it were, they really just moved down the slope. We were always taught that if you don't see bass up shallow then they must be out deep or somewhere else far away. Your videos have really enlightened me to a lot of bass behaviors I thought I knew but it turns out I wasn't seeing the entire picture.
I totally get what you are saying. Until I started spending a bazillion hours filming like this I thought I knew what was going on when in reality there was way more happening than I realized. I am so excited about my Minnesota trip. I can't wait to spend a lot of time filming some new bodies of water where the clarity should still be good so people can see what is going on. I just hope a huge Muskie doesn't try to take a swipe at my sub. Lol.
@@SteveRogersOutdoors Lol! Just don't put spinners on it and you should be fine. BTW, I dropped my $130 pair of sunglasses in the water the other day...can I borrow your sub?
@@LowBrowFishing oh my gosh! I would definitely do that if I was there. They even have a grappling arm option for the sub I have though about buying.
Glad I stumbled upon this channel. Awesome content 🙌🏾🤙🏾💪🏾
Thanks! I appreciate you watching.
Another great video Steve! Thanks brother!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great video i cant belive i just found your channel a few days ago good information
Thank you!
Brother you put out real informative!!! So happy I found the channel. Thanks for all the work you put into the channel, tight lines!!
Thank you for the insight!
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching.
Great info Steve, thank you!
You’re welcome!
Very informative, as usual. Love the footage and the info you provide. Thank you, Steve!
Thanks!
I'm trying that deep edge in Central Florida 1st of March. Spawn is over here. Fish are definitely on the deepest edge my lakes offer. 22 to 23 ft in a lake that only gets to 24. Amazing they're out there and no one really put the time in to figure them out
Good luck! Let me know how it goes. Always amazes me how Florida can be done with the spawn and north of me there is still thick ice. I didn't get to take my Florida trip this year. I normally go and spend a week on Toho every year.
@SteveRogersOutdoors toho is 35 min from the house. Freaking zoo this time of year with so many major tournaments and local tournaments. Your way better off heading to the headwaters Garcia stick marsh area. That and ur smaller local lakes. Lmk your plans and I can be a set of eyes as to where the bites hot and a good general starting point. Bring that Camara. We have some gin clear waters if you know where to not waste time. Careful with the toothy critters
@@jeffreyrodgers5835 I have always wanted to go to Stick Marsh. I definitely plan on making it down there next year again. Makes my long winters easier to take.
Just an update 1 week later and bucks are guarding the neat still and the big girls are moved back offshore to the first drop offs to deeper water say 10 to 15 foot. Very passive. Caught 2@ 5# and 1 @7 this weekend on glide baits fished super slow. S waver
@@jeffreyrodgers5835 those are some great fish! That S Waver is a really great lure. Congrats on some great catches!
I love the video! Can you show us this on a contour map?
I wish I would have done that. It didn't even cross my mind. Thank you for bringing this up! I will try to figure something out.
Nice underwater footage Steve. Goes to say that extra cast length away from the shore. Could you say they would set up there after spawn or just prespawn
I like to check those place both pre and post spawn.
I was wondering... What effect does a prolonged cold snap have on spawning bass? I'm not talking a day or 2... This has been a week and the last several days the wind has been insane! Whitecap winds. Water temps were 64-66 previous to this snap.
Just wondering how they react.
Very timely! I am going to have a video tomorrow about this very topic. Some of the bass I observed were very prespawn. Our water was not quite as warm as yours. I'm editing the video today and it will post tomorrow at noon CST.
Do male bass tend to be more aggressive than female bass ? I was wondering why the female bass are waiting to move up shore.
The males are a little more aggressive in my experience and they will get the beds all fanned out before the females really move up shallower.
@@SteveRogersOutdoors Thanks Steve. 🍺🍺
Buck Perry, the Father of Structure Fishing, defined the edge that you speak of as a "breakline" and the objects on the bottom as "breaks". The home of the fish is the deepest water in the area. The fish will migrate along a path, "structure", which is an area of the bottom that is different from the surrounding area. How far they move and how long they stay will be dependent on the weather and the water conditions at the time. Your video is all a rehash of Spoonplugging with the exception being that your terminology is wrong. For your subscribers to get a full understanding of your video, they should read: Spoonplugging: Your Guide to Lunker Catches by Buck Perry.

That is awesome! Thank you for sharing that. I really appreciate it.
