Isn't it supposed to add to the x value and reduce the y value and vice versa? I got my results correct when using this method instead of the one shown in the video
Like (x,y)

X and y representing the coordinates to A or B and z and a representing the numbers from the slope calculation

If two lines are perpendicular (i.e. the angle between them is 90). The product of their slopes is (-1). You can look up the formula for the product of slopes.
