I've changed how I play solo. I didn't like the stock version as it never seemed to cycle through cards and I ended up with games ending quickly as you couldn't place any cards. I found it a bit too 'lucky' on your shuffle of the deck.
Now every time I take a green or purple card I bin the other 2 and deal 3 new ones. Solves the issue of not cycling the cards but adds the challenge of ooo 2 area really good but I can only take 1.

Very interesting thanks. Even though you only forfeit 1 point, flipping that village card really does feel like the nuclear option!

Hey Tom, thanks for a nice clear explanation of how to play Village Green solo. Seeing the game played is much easier than just reading the instructions. I recently bought the game but have yet to play it. Now I feel confident I can pick up and play.

Like Starby, I recently bought this game and found the rules confusing. The cards stayed in the box!
In all honesty, the solo rules of some games are rushed and seem inconsequential. One buys the game because it is solo to find rules for two players and a small section for solo.
Yes, I am a solo player and like rules that are clear and not like Robinson Crusoe: Cursed Island......finally, followed the video for RC and played the game for a while month and loved it.
