You can save on hoppers if you make the converge channel one lvl down and make it a water stream to a hopper in the middle, which you can access via making a basement

Beef, don’t give up on this series. These are like my favorite to watch.
Then tell people on here (as I do) to stop telling him how to play the game. Tell them he wants to learn on his own. He made that very clear in the video.
More please. I love this series so much already. Ep 5 or 10 should be you beautifying the island and the little farming plateaus.

Beef you only need 1 fence for every 2 cactus! You just have to place it it the middle of the 4 and then you will get more drops and save on materials 😀

For the cactus farm, you should put in Glass blocks instead of fences and also have them in a set of 5 instead of 4. right between four cacti, you have a deadzone that you could place another cactus there to increase the output of your farm slightly. As well as looking up a Cobble gen with pistons would make better use of your new pickaxe. You can set it up so that you can mine faster and save yourself some time waiting for the ore to respawn.

Instead of using a string of hoppers, you should use another water stream in the middle of the cacti to bring it to one hopper. It's less expensive and faster too!
Beef!! For the reed farm: You need to put a hopper below the water source of each individual water source as well as fences in between the reeds.

Someone else said use glass panes. I agree with that. Also, you do not need fences/panes (whatever you decide to use) around the outside of your cactus farm. Also, you do not need nearly that many fences/panes. None of them should be connected. They only need to be directly horizontal to the cacti. If there's air below the north, east, south, and west of a fence, you do not need that fence there.
Instead of obsidian or wood, you could make another cobble generator behind the old one. Double the efficiency!
You can put one dispenser facing up in the middle of your carrot farm, and then put water streams around the outer edges of it. All of the water will rush to the outer edge of the farm, and push all the carrots/wheat/beats/potatoes with it.
This means that you only need some redstone, 1 button, 1 hopper, 1 bucket, and 1 dispenser for each of the farms in this category. A farm like this can also be stacked. And they would have to be circular, so they would look nicer too.
For the carrot farm you should move the dispensers down so then the water is exactly 8 blocks, great video beef!

Some information: /bottlexp will store your experience in a bottle so you don't lose it when you die.
/is value shows the value that a block has on your island level.
you can acces secondary shop using /ah where players offer different wares (hower most will atm most likely be too expensive)
Finally there are crates (envoys) being dropped in the pvp arena at /warp pvp every 30 minutes, these can contain veru useful items and it can be worth it to just run in with no items on you (so you don't lose stuff when you die), get one or two and use /home when you see a player getting close

I think if you add a second lava source on another side of your cobble generator, it will generate the block more quickly for you. Also a reminder you can just rightclick most crops to auto replant ;)
there are automated sugar Cain farms using slime blocks, the piston launches the block with the sticky piston and it launches all the sugar cane to the glass wall and falls down, there is some redstone involved obviously but it was my main money making source on a different server I played on

I don't know if this has been changed or not but if you harvest crops with a fortune pick, the fortune works on the crop as well. At least it used to, not sure if they changed that or not.
This made me miss watching Ren do redstone stuff and make it actually work. I believe in your technical skills Beef xD
beef you don't take any type of damage whatsoever unless in pvp. type /sethome to set your island as your home so if you fall of the edge you just type /home.
Hey beef if you want to double the amount of cactus you can fit in your farm, got to /is warp Flashes2016. The large pillar is what you want to look for

Hey Beef, if you're interested I've got an island on Space and I've got a slime spawner/farm that's pretty effective. I have to go to the top occasionally to knock some slimes off the walls, but otherwise, it's pretty well afk-able.
Beef, buy some spruce and/or jungle saplings and plant them in 2x2 to get those big trees
Your cactus farm will work better if you use slabs because fences block things remember its fence designed to keep things in so it caches on the fence. You can use wood slabs but the top half of a block not the bottem
Yeah you do not need all the fences, and as mentioned by someond bellow, glass panes is the way to go, one inbetween four cactus, so you have less loss, soon Beef will be rollin in green
You should ask an admin on the server for a minion egg. I won one yesterday on that server and you can set him to mine the blocks at the generator for you and it's all collected into a chest for you to access so it would be way less grindy for you since you are trying to make videos. You will get lots of coal, diamond, iron, and cobblestone.
Beef, you might need to find a slime chunk for that spawner to work!

I tried it. It was awesome! No idea where the command list is. It's normally a listed help bukkit plug-in that lists the custom commands, or listed on the server webpage. So players can find it. And know them. But not here on the minesaga jurassic server! Every single time I need to look it up, it's "Hey OP, I'm going to quit unless you tell me the commands. Again." Seriously, why are they not posted on signs on your starter island?
If you do just 1 layer of lava with water under it then it does not destroy drops and I was not sure about it working with slimes cause I know it works with most mobs but slimes are different so thanks for letting me now
Beef, if you start doing some of the challenges ('/challenges') you get some cool stuff like redstone as rewards.
also beef, apparently you can do this thing where you bottle XP, /bottlexp so you can't lose your levels :)

the cactus farm is as effieicient as your going to get it some is going to fall on itself thats just RNG, however if you make multiple floors of cactus, use cobble walls as it fits closer to the cactus stopping the items horizontal flight path sooner, using glass panes is actually worse than fence post, ABSOLUTELY dont use glass panes

You should put blocks underneath the hoppers so you don't accidentally lose one if you have to move them.
Try making a longer cobble gen. You should be able to get through multiple blocks before they start respawning
On the carrot farm you should be able to just use 2 hoppers or pistons in the middle and then then the water from the middle would exp land but maybe not idk

Since you take so damn log in between episodes I started playing myself... And it's actually fun. Slow as shit and annoying to fall off lol but fun wish I got more keys or some kind of spawner. That would be nice
beef you do know for your cobble generator you could just stand back far enough to where your only hitting the cobble and not the block behind it
btw beef u only need 1 fence for each cacti so its like nearly nothing when u do it the right spots

Beef, from my experience on the server, my sugarcane farm is faster than my cactus farm (that is just like yours)! just make some tests on the dropping itenties mechanics on the server :p [in 1hour, i get the double from my sugarcane farm]
Beef ya goof, you didn't need all those hoppers! You could've just used more streams of water, I know you've done it before.
put the blocks or what ever you use that make the cactus pop off in the inside of the farm so you dont use much blocks like how your doing fences on the outside
Hey beef correct me if I’m wrong anyone but seem like some cactus is falling out the ends toward off the map, maybe add walls were they will fall into the water and not outside.
Water streams will save ya some resources when it’s a server like this.
You can place cactus diagonal to the cactus you already placed
You don’t need that many fences you only need 1 fence for every 4 cactus cause as long as it is in one of the 8 blocks around it will break the cactus when it grows so you can save a lot of wood
What happend with your server series! I loved that series...
I got a slime spawner too beef and after working ages on a farm found you have to stand near it for the slimes to spawn......and I found that's a bit of a restriction.
So it'd probably be good to put it on the main island in a basement so that spawns happen.

Why use those hoppers? Islands have a hopper limit. Another water stream would work just fine

Beef, you've placed far too many fences. It's tough to explain, but the cactus and fences should form a sort of checkerboard pattern, with no fence touching another one.

Make a auto slime farm thing with spawner in the air then lava under that then sign under that then water under that going into a hopper then into a chest and then it will be kinda like your cactus farm but it gives slime instead that should work with slime spawners
BananaMan0124 Slimes don't spawn in the air from spawners, I myself use a waterstream on a clock to flush them into a vanaf, then use a slime splitter to make them smaller and finally crush them with pistons (lava would destroy the drops)
build more cobble gen behind ur cobble gen. make it 1 block high and make it 7 cobble gen. u then just can hold down m1

Wouldn't using open fence gates be a bit more efficient? They have absolutely no chance of cactus landing on them.
Jonathan Ronquillo the cactus would just pop trough and land on the cactus next to it, so I don't think it would be more effective
Stand one block lower when you're mining and aim out the back at empty space. Or set up a piston on a timer that pushes the blocks out and you can mine away.

You've got numerous people popping up on your island while your trying to record.
Sure, it might sound cool at first but you got to have another view to it: "How will it affect Beef while he's recording?" -- "How many bodies will be on the screen?" --etc..

Beef for the Droppers can you use wooden pressure plates on top of them - walk one way to activate and back again to deactivate? Not sure if this would work
