Nawal gives me hope. Whenever I am feeling down, strung-out, and hopeless about our world never changing, I just have to come back and watch this and know that things can change, that change is possible, and to never let my creativity die. The ending of this video is perfect. What an incredible human being.
This woman is respectable. This woman is a human role model. This woman is a symbol of freedom. All his words are made of gold. I hope that Iranian women will hear his message and wake up.
She was a beautiful strong lady always swimming against the current she passed away this week may god bless her soul and she may find the peace that we are looking for
What a great and courageous woman! An example of a great deed for a great intention. Spent her life trying to unveil the truth while getting bombarded with harsh criticism and dogmatic oppression.
What an *absolutely fabulous* woman!!! I'm glad she also spoke out against not just female genital mutilation but also male child genital mutilation. As a medical doctor she knew that the foreskin has a valuable evolutionary purpose. End all child #circumcision.
@@justinamusyoka4986: The adult male foreskin is a specifically evolved organ which has many important purposes. It gives protection to the glans (head) of the penis and provides moisture to keep the surface of the glans from drying out or thickening (much like the eyelid protects the eyeball). During sexual activity the foreskin glides back and forth to provide pleasure to both parties. It helps with lubrication as the gliding action acts like a piston which seals moisture inside the partner's vagina, rather than drawing moisture out (which happens with a circumcised penis). The foreskin contains around 20,000 fine-touch nerve endings which have very specific responses to stimuli, sending messages to the brain during the sexual act. The foreskin also has cells which secrete anti-bacterial agents which act as protection and give immunity. There are also cells which produce pheromones (scents) which act as chemical stimuli to prospective partners (eg. indicating if a man is sexually excited, or angry). Laid flat the adult foreskin is around 14 square inches (90 square cm) so it is quite a significant part of a man's body. Removing the foreskin diminishes sensitivity by 50-80%. If done in childhood the adult man doesn't know what he is missing because he has no comparison. The majority of females prefer a man with an intact (natural) penis rather than one which has been circumcised (mutilated). This is because there is little of the dryness which can cause friction, pain and vaginal tearing. The strokes of the intact man are also usually shorter and his body remains more in contact with her clitoris, thus increasing her ability to orgasm. Natural is best. I hope this explains things? Please keep the penis intact...🙏
@@sandytatham3592 thank you,i understand and its only advocacy like this one that will create the awareness to so many who apply Biblical circumcision to all male children. Peace to you.
@@justinamusyoka4986: It is my pleasure to be an advocate for children to have complete bodily autonomy. Consent is a very important human right and it must be prioritised above what someone else believes they should do to a child's body. Namaste.
Above all what she said, the point about „Charlie hebdo attack“ is so true and shows a lot in the real world. She is so brilliant, brave and fascinating! RIP Nawal El Saadawi 🙏🏻
She rebelled against hegemony so I don't think she would accept the title of "godess" She is a lantern with a light that will shine way beyond life and ours.
I don´t think that is what she meant. Also i even think she did not understand Maliks question and therefor her answer isn´t that valuable. She was a lot talking about personal space, for example her book. She want to hear constructive critique and not just "it´s great" because that has no value in her oppinion. I think Malik tried to push the question on a global level and was talking about zeitgeist. For example the use of the term race or similar concepts. I don´t think they were talking about political correctness per se. That is just your interpretation.
She´s a great person, but i´m a bit bummed out she did not understand the question about the 'zeitgeist' i know Malik did not use that term, but i think that what he ment with the change in age/time - that nowadays there is a shift towards being to carefull to be not offensive. For example how to deal with the idea of race. He did not mean literally the age of a person and he wasn´t talking about individuals, i think he meant more the modern society as a whole.

True, there is too much politeness.
