Well Come Together, The Real Me, Money, Silly Love Songs, My Generation, Drowned, Billion Dollar Baby and many more all came out long before this song. The bass was already beloved by then thanks to Paul McCartney, John Entwistle and Jack Bruce mainly.
@@thebookofeli849 That's a good point! I honestly am not well-versed in any of those bands and have a surface-level knowledge of Paul McCartney as a member of the Beatles. Even then, very little knowledge. Thank you for sharing.
Even though non-bassists would think "oh thats so easy". But I, as a long time bass player can tell you, lots of bassists, even people who play the instrument for 2-3 years can play this in a real groove. I have played for 17 years already.

This song is the equivalent to Smells Like Teen Spirit in terms of difficultly for bass. Not gonna say that one's harder than the other, but bass can get super hard depending on the genre
It’s not so much as one is more difficult than the other. They are just two different instruments with different roles or functions. There’s less fretboard to learn on a bass is probably the only easier thing about it. It depends on what type of music I suppose as well. For example, learning to be an intensely solid jazz bassist is infinitely easier than learning to be a punk rock guitarist. Yet, learning to play JS Bach’s lute suites on guitar would be worlds more difficult than learning to play funk bass.
I'm gonna buy a bass next year but for now I practice basslines an octave higher on my guitar. xD This is the first one I learned and I recommend it for beginners it is quite easy and so cool. Just start a little bit slower and not in the original speed. :)
I don’t know why most bass players consider this song as one of the hardest to learn because it took me 10 minutes to get it with out any struggles. And every-time we jam this song as a warmup in studio I really enjoy it.
