We’re paying twice for them to be housed - once by our tax being spent directly on housing them in hotels but then again by also paying a premium on our hotel bookings when we go anywhere ourselves. As with anything the price of hotel rooms is based on supply and demand. Hundreds of thousands of rooms being given (literally) to illegal migrants means there are less rooms for the purpose for which they were intended and hence the prices are driven upward!
I suspect the real financial cost of each illegal is eye watering, transport, translators, room and board, security, clothing, mobile phones, allowances, medical/dental and legal aid, than the longer term social cost and unrest, of course the wealthy liberal/socialists with have the means to escape the problem areas.

@@ashleyclegg6672 As I recall, a couple years back the RNLI got a new administrator I forget what her proper job title was but she was very woke and became annoyed on an inspection of an RNLI base, she spotted two so called "saucy " tea mugs on a shelf which she described as being inappropriate and she enquired as to where they came from, and when was discovered they belonged to two of the long serving volunteers she told them that they ( i.e. the volunteers ) were no longer required and "sacked" them both .

We’re paying twice for them to be housed - once by our tax being spent directly on housing them in hotels but then again by also paying a premium on our hotel bookings when we go anywhere ourselves. As with anything the price of hotel rooms is based on supply and demand. Hundreds of thousands of rooms being given (literally) to illegal migrants means there are less rooms for the purpose for which they were intended and hence the prices are driven upward!
And maybe 3 fold,possibly foreign aid to the countries they're coming from.
I suspect the real financial cost of each illegal is eye watering, transport, translators, room and board, security, clothing, mobile phones, allowances, medical/dental and legal aid, than the longer term social cost and unrest, of course the wealthy liberal/socialists with have the means to escape the problem areas.
Add to that benefits, social care, police, housing, schooling, nhs...

My Father served in the Merchant Navy during The War, he was part of The North Atlantic Convoys, going to Murmansk in Russia. He would turn in his grave if he saw the state our Country is in today.
