The jam serve and the crack ace are valid tactics when trying to win, I will say in the rally when requesting a screen shot, seemed pretty weak, you chose to stand right behind him and not choose a side, of course your not gunna see the ball, and his shot was far enough from his body…if it was then how to you get it back?
Hate when guys use "the serve seen at 0:57." I get it's coming so fast, you can't argue for a penalty hinder, but no one should ever literally body blocking a straight in shot on a serve. Its hard to tell but I know for sure receiver doesn't have cross court. Someone with a flat swing could (and should be able if they want) to take that out of the air, but there's a decent chance you'll hit the guy because its coming so fast, you might even accidentally miss-hit to server's head since degree of difficulty is high. During "the rally" after the serve mistakes happen and literally everyone will be in the way at some point - but the server can control where the ball is going on the serve, so it's even more imperative "during this part of the game" to NOT put the ball in MIDDLE of the court. If this kind of situation happens AFTER the serve, I prob take it to the ceiling to be a good sport, keep rally going. However, on the serve, I literally will just call replay hinder, hold up my swing every time in this situation. Am I wrong? It's too dangerous to swing with him in front of you, and it's not fair I got to go to the ceiling cuz "you're in the way."
Joe, you’re body-blocking the receiver from making any kind of higher percentage passing shot. He can take it out of the air and if he hits a cross court or even just straight in to front wall, he prob will hit you. How is that ethical to serve at you open level? If you’re ok with receiver swinging away (he knows this ahead of time) and you don’t mind getting hit I guess it’s ok. Otherwise bit unfair, don’t you think?
No I don’t agree. I hit the serve at pro level. If he hits me he hits me. But if the jam is hit at the proper time and hit well, I likely will not get hit but will get a very weak return.
@@joeandangelikakelley2302 LOL - this is yet another one of the many reasons WHY the sport is on the decline. The sport's ruling director/board gives no guidance for these type of situations. And we have people like you who encourage this serve so you see more and more low level players using it often. At the club level if I take a full swing out of the air and hit someone, it's gonna hurt like hell because the combined velocity will be 100-150mph. Then I'm gonna get a reputation of being a dangerous player, less people will want to play with me. It might even cause a big argument on the court. If I hold up, call a replay hinder, I look like a rule nazi. If I take it to the ceiling like your brother did, I likely give my opponent a good chance of winning the point which creates an unfair advantage.
@@rbaddict2947 I encourage all levels of players to hit jam serves. If my brother wanted to shoot it he would have. If he held up as a gentlemen, it’s sideout as it would be a penalty hinder. My guess is I caught him off guard and got a weak return as I wanted. Your looking really deep into this with your reference to nazis haha. All levels should learn the rules and play by them. Getting him with the ball is part of the game. I can’t recall the last time I was hit on return of a jam. Holding up for no reason is part of the problem at the pro level and if I ever get there I refuse to be part of that problem.
It’s been awhile since we seen you guys crazy gets that day!!! Merry Christmas
Wohoo! Christmas has come early! 🎁 Glad to see you are posting more content! 💪
More to come!
Get fancy with an instant replay system, that would solve SOME arguments.

That was a jam serve dude. Intentionally hit
