- One of the secrets of Mikhail Tal's magic was his strong intuition. In complicated positions, when it was impossible to calculate all variations, he relied on his gut feeling and sacrificed material instinctively. In this game he intuitively sacrifices three pawns to open as many files and diagonals as possible, in order to activate his pieces and prepare the ground for a deadly attack on the enemy king.

I am afraid I must quibble with that. According to Nimzovich's meaning there is just one pawn-chain in this position, consisting of four Pawns, on d4, e5, d5 and e6, or as he might have said, White,s Q4, K5 and, Black's Q4, K3.

Yes, in the excerpt you quoted he talks about black-and-white pawn chain. But at the same time, White has his own chain (d4, e5), while Black's chain consists of black pawns on d5 and e6.
