There’s a lot of moving parts to what I’m about to say, so I can’t promise it’ll make much sense. I wish there was some other way I knew I could speak to a professional or something, but this is the best way I can think of to get this stuff out. There’s two things I wanted to talk about, and this is the first. I’ve recently found that a lot of what find interesting or enjoy is either a source of anxiety by itself, or reinforces said anxiety. In the case the latter is accurate, I don’t know what the actual source of anxiety is. An example of what I mean when I say: “I think most things I enjoy/find interesting cause me anxiety” is Persona 3, which is my favorite game. For anyone who had played P3, you’ll know the plot, content, subject matter, imagery, etc. in that game are far from sunshine and rainbows. On one hand, I enjoy the gameplay, the story, the concepts drawn from Jungian psychology in the game, etc. On the other hand though, I’ve struggled with a fear of death for 3 years now. I’m constantly inside my own head, ruminating and overthinking things, and frankly, that tends to make the fear, anxiety and stress pertaining to that fear even worse. I really don’t know how to address this stuff. I wish it was easy as I think it is, and it’s just as simple as getting a real hug, and figuring out a way to breathe literally and figuratively, but it’s probably not.
