My wife and I are here in Cebu for a Christmas visit. We take her mom to get doctors visit and for the most part, she’s willing to go.
We monitor what she eating but it’s hard to stay on her all the time.

I primarily eat 2 meals a day and 2x a month do a 40ish hour fast.. 10 years ago I was pre-diabetic and now at 61 years of age all my numbers are impressive and I'm on zero meds.. eating complete breakfast/lunch/dinner from habit isn't healthy/necessary.. take care..

I hope Mama gets better A&J 🙏🏻 having kidney issues makes getting the right long term medication more difficult especially an alternative to statins to treat high blood pressure.
TIA is Transient Ischemic Attack, a temporary interruption of blood to the brain. I had one myself before having a full stroke because I did not recognise the symptoms. It just felt like a heavy arm all day which I assumed I'd slept on it awkwardly. I was quite young, very physically active with normal blood pressure. No official reason was found but was suspected to be from a fall on a bicycle the evening before the TIA.
Clopidogrel is an anticoagulant that prevents blood clots but is milder than Warfarin which is a blood thinner and has little effect on kidney function.

My parents are both in their nineties and are Filipino. When they hit their sixties, they realized that they needed to change their diet and see their doctors on a regular basis because of their elevated blood pressure and cholesterol. It was a struggle because rice and pork are some of the things they enjoy eating but without going cold turkey, they were able to do it. The key to success is constant monitoring and everything in moderation.
