This is one of the few tanks which will be much better at 7.7 than at 6.7 as its autocannon can easily kill MBTs than heavy tanks.

You can forget trying to pen Russian tanks….and Germany just needs to a fly there hull slightly and u won’t pen shit….it’s really good against light tanks and British tanks

the issue you'll have with breaking the Is4Ms 12.7 is that it has a second in it's mantlet

I used to play japan in the past and its ground forces were too few while the air forces were flying paper kites, but im really glad with the updates since japan got more in its arsenal and better vehicles :)
7.3 is a perfectly acceptable BR for this vehicle. Moving it up will only make it better than it already is. This vehicle is a rare case where an uptier is a blessing as it brings you more early MBTs with wet paper for armor. A downtier, on the other hand, brings you into a BR where the armor-meta is still viable. Here, you have to face Tiger IIs, Jagdtigers, IS tanks, and the American T-series. Even with the APFSDS, you need to bet on your opponents being clueless so you can get either close enough or all the way around them. The RCV is, by no means, a small vehicle and a gust of wind can penetrate the armor, killing the sardine canned crew. It's easy to see coming and even easier to kill. Oh, you just knocked out a IS-4's barrel? It's DShK can still shred you. Oh, you managed to shoot off his roof DShK? *He has a second one in the turret.* Good luck trying to kill a T34 or T29, they have *3 .50 cals.*
Imagine it's 1945, you're chilling in your Pzkpfw Tiger Ausf. B, thinking you're invincible then you have to face an FPV going 100kph and has an autocanon shooting APFSDS

I absolutely love this thing and I just got it spaded today and I do have to say I think it does deserve to go up to 7.7 maybe 8.0 but that will really be pushing it there in my opinion but this vehicle is very fun I'm happy I got it and maybe we can see lav 25 or btr in the future

i disagree i think 7.3 is honestly a perfect for. it’s absolutely can’t be 8.0, it’s not on par with the bradley even slightly i think it’s most comparable to the Marder and bmp also at 7.3
Honestly, the higher you put it the better it will be because of fewer heavy tanks. Right now you have to worry about Tiger IIs, Soviet IS series and American T series heavies, but if you uptier it to 8.0, all you'll fight will be lightly armored IFVs and early MBTs. The same thing happened with Falcon, the second they upped its BR it became even more OP because now all you fight are Leo1s and Marders.
@@maverickjhett exactly this. It has no businesses at 8.0 like many cry about. 7.3 seems the perfect place for it. Enough light amored vehicles to make it viable and enough armored opponents to not have the r3 sindrome.
@@rocket_sensha4337 i’ve played it a lot on the dev server and on the live server a bit and it’s definitely no R3, 7.3 is perfect especially cause it’ll probably lose its APFSDS at some point because to my knowledge Japan never actually used it.
I did not know this thing can bully Tiger IIs like that, it definitely is not staying at 7.3 lol.
It's a nice proof of concept for adding ZSL-92(similar fast-firing 25mm gun, essentially KBA barrel with enlarged ZSU-23 action).
I dont even play japan and im fine with it at 7.3. Also really glad that it can give leopards and marders something to think about.

Or the freccia (second tranche) with new turret and redesigned hull. We have the version with missile(spike) and an version without missile.

Been coming across this lil guy while playing 11.0 and been caught lacking in my M1A2 lmao. I lost 12k SL to a 7.3 un stabilized Dardo....but I came back in the A1 and switched to my 50 to kill him. I love how it has a full crew compliment. Makes me wish other IFVs/LTs had their full crew like the Bradley or the bmps
Fun fact: even if ou break the barrel, sometimes the tank CAN still fire, while losing alot of pen, velocity and etcetera, you can still pen slightly armored vehicles.

Only in arcade. When the barrel is dark red or completely destroyed, it can not fire.

If this things goes up it'd more than likely do better since more stuff 7.7 and above has less armour

hey justic could we get a type 74C (the new one)? i am kind of torn about the fact that its 8.0 but barely has anything more to show compared to the STB-1 so it would be nice to see how it performs in your hands
as long as it cant kill heavies easily and requires half a brain to deal with them i dont see it moving it up. "gaijin statistics" are based off of the lowest common denominator. thats why the r3 stayed at such a low br for so long.
I am sad they nerfed the type 89 so it can't fire missile on the go but now it do not have mags.
If you ever need kill assists for an event or challenge this is gonna be the go to vehicle i think.

You could've killed the is6 from the back, i killed one with gepard's apds through the engine, my shot went through a gap next to the engine room and killed his driver
the guepard have a much higher pen on apds IIRC

The reason the tiger didnt die to that bomb was because he pressed the drop bombs button incorrectly. Everything works as intended in WT
I hate how people say these vehicles are OP and they need to raise their BR. Like these things, cant go everywhere and cant face to face MBTs, you have to come up with something in order to make this thing lethal. If you succeed, you are rewarded with nice surprise kills and action... MY MBT GOT FLANKED OMG SO BROKEN, just because everyone is blind, deaf, and dumb doesn't mean autocannon fast vehicles are OP... Anyways, great video Justin.
This thing is a little meme machine in WG:RD, now I just have to decide if it's worth grinding through the Japanese post-war microwave tunnel to get to it
Its super fun I grinded and spaded almost all of Japanese rank 4 to get it i will say the Japanese tanks stock around 6.3 and 6.7 are horrific but the type 75 sph is super fun
I wish the Japanese tree had a bit more to offer in the post WW2 to modern department. The tree feels pretty bad since the STA series is mediocre at 6.3. No armor, okay guns, poor mobility.
ST-A1 is the only that I'd consider to suck cuz it only has reverse speed (guns have poor ballistics but good damage)
ST-A2 has a higher velocity round, as well as the Type 61
And the ST-A3 is just a Type 61 with a 6 second autoloader which is awesome
Oh and i didn't mention the sights that are quite good
I feel like the RCV is Gaijin testing the waters for other similar vehicles and using the japanese one as not too many people play japan so it won't flood the match maker

13:10 - I personally wouldn't agree with this statement at all. As someone who really enjoys 6.7-7.7 heavys and mediums, uptiers are often horrific. Being uptiered with a 7.7 heavy to 8.3 for example, is a total death sentence and I often just don't take them out at all in that situation. In contrary I am pretty comfortable taking for example a Leo A1A5 out to even 11.0. As long as the tank has at least average 105mm APFSDS, decent mobility and a stabilizer (maybe some thermals), I really don't care about uptiers when I enter the 8.7+ region.
The only exeption would probably be MBT's that focus more on their armor and don't have that great mobility, like Chieftains, Challengers, Merkavas, maybe M60's.

This thing is so annoying. I'm just tryin to play my Leo 1 and grind for rank 6 tanks, I'm playing decent, and then BAP BAP BAP, my gun and tracks are out in a second from this thing, and the enemy is advancing to kill me. :(

Why is this thing at 7.3, Ive been facing this annoying vehicle at 6.3 !!!!??? Cant even flank in a t-44 without being shredded by this wheeled IFV or the German bmps/Marders atgms, or out snipped by IKV 91 with its laser ranger finder, or the U-SH-405. Im not hating on this vehicle but 6.0-7.0 is a complete mess. And don't tell me its a skill issue when an IKV-91 can laser range tanks at 2kms ???!!! or atgms with 3km range??!!

Well if you can pen the rear and sides of a tiger 2 the 11.0 should not be a problem
if it goes to 7.7-8.3 it would be easier to kill tanks
i think this shit would be even worse if it get to 8.3 since 8.3 most MBT are early MBT which has way lower armor than late WW2 heavy tank

Tbh I,m only at 5.0 japan but currently grinding to get this thing..Its literally just bonkers on wheels loads of fun and even if it gets upteired to 7.7 I,ll still take it .I can imagine most games in it is probably me screaming in panick for the entire match lol.
Not much about the vehicle pushes it to 7.7+ especially if it's going to lose PMB09 (JSDF never serviced the round). I would prefer they just reduce damage it does to barrels and tracks.
The dart round was bugreported and the mod responded that it was added for balance reasons.

I actually think this thing sucks. I say they should give it it's stabilizer so we can uptier it and see tanks with thinner armor, especially on the sides since at 7.3 a lot of mediums and heavies have at least 75mm of side armor.

Call me biased because i play a lot of japan but i think your video is evident of why this thing doesn’t need to go up in br. This thing really isn’t fast unless it’s on a flat paved road, it’s extremely big for being so lightly armored and easily spotted, it’s almost always a 1 shot because of its centered ammo and over pressures from the littlest things. also 6.3-7.7 is FULL of heavy tanks and really can’t kill them easily/at all, most games in this end in more assists than kills and it’s really only a light tank killer and not much more. even a full downtier it can’t kill medium tanks even with a slight angle on their side armor, the higher br it goes the less armor there is and it’ll probably perform better, personally i think 7.3 is the perfect fit for it being on par with the bmp and marder

Does anyone know why they made the optic zoom for gunner sights on the stb-1 and type 74's 1X-8X? The same as the japanese sherman. It's really bad for sniping and i love sniping with my type 74's
