My little brother danced this song together with little gal in their school concert when he was in primary school. He still remember his little partner gal until today. ;-) Love it.
I think, this versin is the best. Both U Win Oo & Daw Mar Mar Aye have unique's vocal. I met U Win Oo several time when I lived at Louris street, Rangoon. Tall (according to Burmese standard), pale but handsome with mustard & smiling face. He is educated. Actor, director, singer, song writer, scrip writer, writer. Talented person. So far, no actor can compete to him.By the way, he was body builder & member of Burma weigh lifting & body builder association. He was soldier.
How time passed. It was 40 years ago I went to a Win Oo concert in Rangoon where he sang duets with different actresses and vocalists. My fiance thought Win Oo was a megalomaniac- I think he was just jealous. I think he is a good singer. Brings back memories- thanks for sharing.
@54living He was an officer in the Burmese Navy, and made his name as a writer before he turned actor and singer, later also a director. Yes, he was one in a million. Like he himself said: one in an era.
@Wagaung Thanks for the information. How lucky you are. I was very lucky too to have met Win Oo when he had a private treatment for his cancer in London. He doted on my eight months old younger son.
In fact, U win Oo has 25% Indian blood. His mom is Mani Ba Khet. Her father U Ba Khet met her mom at India when he was studying medicine. Mani Ba Khet married U Ba Nyut who is U Win Oo's father. Later U Win Oo's father became famous as singer "Love trouble U B Nyut". Daisy Kyaw Win (actor U Kyaw Win & Daw Tin Tin Mu's daugher) was Win Oo's elder brother U Win Nyunt's wife. U Win Nyunt is also actor. Their young brother U Kyi Shwin (university) is also actor. This family has good artist gene.
I have never heard this version. Thank you very much. I like this song very much. There is also a song with funny lyrics but same melody. If you have that song too, please upload.
@MMAsIngs Yes, I went to that concert as well. Win Oo was the first one( well before Yan Aung) who sang with different actresses and vocalists in a one-man-show concert. Daisy Kyaw Win was the compere and he sang with Mar Mar Aye, Tin Tin Mya, Tin Tin Mu etc. My friend said he was behaving like a zat minthar who danced with different minthamis in a zat pwe. Mind you, we were not jealous.
@MMAsIngs Couldn't agree more. Reminds me of the time I went with a few of my mates, including a son of Myoma Nyein, to watch Win Oo recording at Mandalay Film Studios in Hninsi-chan, little known songs at the time of MN ("Thissa", "Chit Nibban", "Tainhlwa Momolwin" and "Mapeethaythaw Bajikaa") which relaunched his flagging career. Someone said,"I'm a guy and I could fall in love with him". We were well jealous. I said to my friend,"I hope he pays your family enough for your father's songs".
what a lovely clasic !! listening to these songs make me think of my home land but only thing is now all I am seeing is most yong star are starting to lose their identity going westen way .Thanks for sharing.
@54living Thanks for the comment. Yes you are absolutely right. He was multitalented & so far, no one can compete to him. My husband and i went to his concerts & we enjoyed it very much.
Great piano. Of the versions with a slower beat I like this one best. Mar Mar Aye's voice could melt the hardest soul. And Win Oo? He's Win Oo, isn't he?
Thank you very much for uploading this song. Please allow me to ask; is the female vocalist really is Daw Mar Mar Aye? She rather sounds like Daw Cho Pyone.
@Marcuszyp There is the same song by Yan Aung and Cho Pyone on the same channel. I agree that some of the Myanmar mp3s are not as good as the original recording.
@snowflake8439 Sadly I never actually met him though I did phone him in hospital in London; he sounded great and I told him so. Guess what Myoma Nyein's son said at the time. "We are happy if Win Oo can revive my dad's songs. It's not about the money". A very wise head on such young shoulders. Myoma and Win Oo did embark on a lasting and very rewarding partnership, and he graced Thingyan in Mandalay on the Myoma float every year.
You mentioned about posting four versions by different artists, I could only find the first two, how do I find remaining two (duets with Cho Pyone, the other with Soe Sanda Tun?
