I looked up what an Orpheum is. For those curious, an Orpheum is a term for a Greek theatre. Apparently, they were named after Orpheus, a mortal who impressed the gods with his music and poetry.
And here it's the opposite. A godly being making music so good it not just impresses people, but makes them go mad, grow tumors and turn into the god's instruments.
