    as much as this a ok way of changing a lift pump on these,a WAY EASIER plan is to jack up that side of the truck,remove the front wheel,remove the wheel well plastic liner,then take something to cut with and cut out about a 5 x 5 chunk out of the metal fender well,it will be covered once you put the plastic liner in,then sit down,and do your lift pump change right there at arms length,easy peasy,and you could do it at the side of the road in the future in about 30 minutes,it's not like these a re highly collectible trucks,LOL.and that mod will make doing lift pump work a breeze,works great if you have a hard time changing filters too,since it's right there,

    How do you get over the problem of the new pump being an inch shorter than the original?? The 90 degree hose from the heater to the pump can't make the turn. WTF!! My original pump is made in england and is easily an inch longer than any of the replacements I bought. I got one from NAPA and one straight from Cummins. What's the deal?

    Got a 97 6Bt truck that got degraded gas run through it. Like grey foamy crap right to the injectors. I put a hose down the diesel fill tube and pumped everything out. Filled with verified good diesel. I'm having a nightmare of a time getting diesel to the fuel filter. I keep having to drain more garbage from the water separator. To I need to drop the tank and disassemble the fuel run from tank to injectors? Could gas have ruined the lift pump diaphragm?

    Hi there thanks for the video it was helpful. As you said putting it back is a pain in the neck. So I guess the studs you used had to be M8 1.25 I guess about two inches. Did you use the double sided studs? Where did you buy them? Another question, do you have a tutorial on how to get the cam to let the stem fit? or just turn it until it fits? I put my finger in there and it feel like there is a round thing on some sort of up and down thing. Sorry so silly questions.

    • @NoNonsenseKnowHow
      @NoNonsenseKnowHow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, yes they are m 8 by 1.25. I forget the exact lead since it's been awhile. But whatever makes sense when you're in there. Sorry I don't really have any other videos on this subject. I will just say be very careful that it goes in straight and and doesn't scratch the cam. Best to rotate the engine so that the cam lobe is opposite and flat of the cam is exposed
