I imagine this is an infinite spiral of non-Euclidean madness, its an Escherian Drift Coil, a metaphor for feeling as if you're drifting about and spiraling downwards endlessly, lower and lower, but you never actually hit any sort of bottom nor does anything get worse, in fact you aren't going anywhere once you look back to see what's around you, the mountains are as they always were, but the winds that blow all around you may buffet you and make you spin out and about but you never lose your way.
