      @@LeeTowerPropertySolutions About midnight: international standards (ISO 8601) have dropped the 2400 representation for midnight. I read that it's because they don't want midnight to *have* multiple representations.

    I've never had to use military time ever, but I always easily understood it. When I started working at a hospital, I had to switch over even though I was used to AM/PM. Very easy to switch.

    I like Military time, because it makes sense for time to start at low numbers and go to the 24th hour, rather than starting over half way thru, which makes no sense. But the day and count should start at regular time's 6AM. Starting at midnight makes no sense either.

    • @gammondog
      @gammondog 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does for the same reason the clocks are moved to daylight saving time shortly after midnight. The change occurs when most people are not at work or getting ready for work.

    One quick correction. You do not say "oh" as in "Oh One hundred" for 0100. Instead, it is "Zero One Hundred Hours" or "Zero Five Forty-Five Hours". "Oh" is the letter "O" not the numeral "0".

    Surprised to see the colons left out. ISO 8601 uses the colons between hours, minutes, and second. At least in its long form. I suppose each profession needs to tweak the format to avoid confusion with how it uses those marks and numbers in other places.

    I think the 2400 is wrong because 12 midnight is another day so you must put date to imply that the work was ended another day, how can you record it if it started from 12am to 1am of another day? will you write it from 0000 to 2500 ?🤔

    • @gammondog
      @gammondog 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. The work has not ended in another day unless you work past midnight.You would have to recorded it as from Tuesday 0000 to Wednesday 0100.
      The 2400 designation is best for when the event being recorded ends at midnight and doesn’t extend into the new day. For example, “Store hours 09:00 to 24:00”.
