@@kanecustomboats thanks!, you know I had a Hot Rod, it had a 1966 Chevelle 350HP 396 in it when I bought it. but it was dead worn-out. it took me 2 years to rebuild a good 350 and buy all the stuff it needed. most the stuff that was in it was rigged up when I got it. in the spring of the 3rd year I had it all ready to go. I went to put the bilge pump in it and I found the rear 3ft of the floor was all rotted. so I have a real love for the Hot Rod.
@@sideswiped6874 Sorry to hear about the floor. If you still have the boat, the bottom plywood can be replaced and fiberglassed again. This hull was very easy to build. We used 1/2" marine plywood in the flatter aft section and two layers of 1/4" in the bow. Check out our website for build photos : www.kanecustomboats.com
That ball cap has to be glued on! Boat sure planes out nice, looks balanced and like it just wants to go faster. Outstanding build! Good job on the video, negligible wind noise, motor sounded sweet.
The cap isn't glued or velcro'ed on but if you look closely, you'll see a tether string attached to the cap ! Thanks for the positive comments. My friend Nik shot the video from Neel Thompson's Glen-L Gentry. Thank you for your interest in the Hot Rod ! Regards, Paul Kane.
I myself have taken several rides in this boat. This year was the first time I've ridden in it since Paul installed the trim plates typical of so many V-drive boats. Every year and at ever Gathering, this boat just keeps getting better and better.
Thank your for your interest in the video ! Neel Thompson's Gentry is powered by an Indmar 5.7 ltr. with throttle body fuel injection rated at 310 HP. The transmission is a Hurth 1 : 1 . We have another video of Neel's boat on our TH-cam Channel. If you need more info, contact us at paul@kanecustomboats.com .
yee-up. no nose bouncing. he's got the bottom, trailing edge straight and sharp.
Thank you for the comment. Very solid ride in rough water.

Such a cool boat, it looks as smooth as silk on the water. Really nice lines.

Beautiful lake! I am definitely going to build a boat at some point. Probably a barrel back.
