Can you change channel type after having created it??? I want to change a private channel to shared channel. But I have no ideas how to do that? I tried my best to find the right option.

Thanks for this informative video. How does this behave for a SharePoint list, especially for Shared Channel?

I think it would work the same as any other SP list, library or document thats from a teams channel - all members (owners are members as well) would be able to access and see that list. I think that if you make a SP list outside of the Team, directly on the SP site and outside of a channel, the main Team member would still be able to access and see the list once they go to that SP site since its associated to their team.

Do you find this method good for interaction with Clients? Do you find using Teams and Channel permissions secure? For example, only allow that Client to view and/or use that Team and not other Clients? Determining whether to use Teams and Channels instead of an outside CRM/Project Management system. If i create a Team, I can add a Channel just for the Client and me to interact but... have another channel within just for my tracking of tasks etc. and Client will not be able to use or see those correct?

Yes - you can create private channels to work with clients. They will only have access to that particular channel contents. There is no READ ONLY permission in Teams as they are added as members so they will have edit/modify permissions.

If managing permissions from the SP site does not affect the associated Teams (365 group) membership, then how would one modify 365 group membership outside of using MS Teams?

Standard Channel permissions are managed through M365 group. M365 groups can be managed through outlook as well. Private channel membership is managed through private channel in MS Teams

About Sharepoint more than about different channels
