Nice video. I watched a few times before beginning the build. If you tie the sail to the mast it must be with figure 8. Through the hole in the sail, then cross before the mast then round the mast and tie of with the touthpick trick. This ensures enough space between sail and mast. The way you did it makes that the sail can sit next to the mast, cuaght between the line and the mast. The end of the bowsie line should not be knotted around the bowsie, but end in a figure 8 knot, so it kan fall nearly completely in the bowsie.
Nice video there!!! I also have a focus 2 that i bought maybe 5 years ago. It was very complex to set it up. Now 5 years later im still learning how to set up a sail boat! Just love them!!!!!
@@sailwars Yes mate... Dont use washers on the stays.. Instead use small fishing swivels with attached stainless clip that they come with, No sharp edges and are brass being the fishing swivel with stainless steel clip ( what you would normally attach a lure or hook to ) So No rust and the bonus of a swivel. 🙂
Great boats these! It will be my 3rd in my collection...The pride of my fleet being a 1m Laser. I saw somewhere on TH-cam that the mast can be modded to actually pull down for transport but cannot find the link. Can anyone help please with this? All I remember was the guy just separating the mast in Two sections. The Laser pulls down in 4mins flat. Thankyou so much for the setup Video mate. Take care guys.
Yes mate. You should be able to enter any 1m event. They race Focus 2 in some IOM races around the world. The focus 2 has also proven to be quicker than the DF95 in most tested conditions. Its a great Yacht and with some very simple hardware mods, You are set. Other sail sets can also be made yourself very easily. The main rig that comes with the boat is excellent and fully tweakable. Have fun!

All good advice!

That spare "O" ring is for holding the receiver down. Just got my FOCUS II today. Thanks for your videos.
Great! Thank you.
verry helpful ! 😀
Glad it was helpful!
Hi , Where is the grease/vaseline on the rudder shaft.?
We have never heard of someone doing that. Do you think there is that much friction?
@@sailwars Its always a good idea to use marine grease on the rudder stem yes.

We haven't seen that video. Maybe one of our viewers has?
Question; will a Focus 2 mast fit into a DF95 deck?
We aren't sure. Do you want a 813 sq inch rig on a df95? 😅
I'd certainly change the Bulb. I reckon it would run great after getting the heel just right. Top idea.
We are going to test it out.
is the focus 2 and focus 3 same as rg95 class?
We aren't sure. Maybe someone else reading this can answer?

What changes would need to be made?
