Many were obsessed with Apollo's handsomeness but there was this one water nymph that was deeply in love with him-Clytie._ _Everyday, she would watch him with unblinking eyes as he moved with the sun across the sky._ _But Apollo was in love with Daphne, the daughter of the water God so, he couldn't return Clytie's love in the beginning._ _Untill Daphne broke his heart and he was left alone._ _All this time, it was still Clytie watching him everyday, & her love for him never changed. It was unconditional Clytie continued to watch Apollo as he passed through the sky. She sat on a rock for nine days without food and water and just kept looking at her love._ *Slowly, after 9 days, she turned into a flower-the Sunflower.* _But even in the form of a flower, she still loved him so much that she kept watching him as he moved through the sky everyday & followed his direction._ _And so Apollo gave her his light, protected her & she grew._ *Based on this myth; that's the reason why sunflowers move with the sun.* *They represent loyalty, unconditional love & adoration. Also yellow sunflowers are symbol of happiness in life.* 💛
