#1 plastic may be used as a substitute, though it does not work quite as well as #6 plastic. With #1 plastics, they tend to curl up around the edges and sometimes get a foggy exterior. #1 plastics tend not to shrink as much either. Thank you for your question!

Can you use #1? I can never find #6, these tray containers always turn out to be #1, it’s frustrating
