Your first pronunciation of Aachen was pretty good! As well as the Kräuterprinten! Almost your whole pronunciation was actually pretty good this time :D

Oh, Aachener Printen are gingerbread. Just a different variation of it. There are a couple of gingerbread specialities in Germany, but the ones from Aachen and Nürnberg are the most famous ones.

I can think of two countries that love Christmas spices, Germany and the UK. We both love those warm strong spices in the winter time, especially around Christmas time.

Myself and Satoshi both love our wafers, I get great joy out of watching him enjoy the wafer products. We love the Sakuto!

Hello Shinichi and Satoshi! Thanks to Heike, Stephanie, and Thorston for sending such wonderful treats! I have eaten some of these treats, and they are very delicious. I used to eat zimsterne and lebkuchen every year! I am sorry there were so many treats with cinnamon, which is hard for Satoshi, but there were some nice chocolate treats and other things for him to enjoy, too. Thanks for the video!

Hi Erin! It's me, Thorsten. Thank you very much, for your compliment. And it's good to hear, that you like the treats.
And Satoshi-san.....Sorry for this lots of cinnamon. But I thing you will be happy with all of the other treats, beers and Glühwein!
Can't wait to see the next video...... :-)
      Greetings........Thorsten

Greetings from Aachen, the city of the famous "Printen"... So glad you liked them!
Pro tip: use one or two of the Kräuter Printen in the sauce for your roast. It's simply delicious!

Like in a sauerbraten where you use gingersnap cookies for the gravy?

@@laraq07 exactly. Put them in before cooking up the sauce. They should dissolve easily and provide you with the perfect base for a delicious sauce.

@@Andi1878 Just this week I made my first Sauerbraten sauce with Printen instead of Pumpernickel (like my mother did) and I liked it so much better. And if they don't break down while cooking jsut use a blender real quick. XD

Sorry Satoshi but one of the joys of watching you guys to try out new foods is watching your reaction to the food you don't like while remaining polite. 😂 Although my family is Japanese, I did grow up half time in a German-speaking home where I was introduced to many German foods through my Au Pair/tante Sabine.

I miss Christmas in Germany. In fact we miss everything about Germany. The food, the people and it is beautiful there during this time. Gluhwein and stollen are winter staples. Coming from Hawaii, it was our first experience in snow. We lived near Ulm in a city name Senden for a couple of years.

My mother was stationed in Germany during the 80s so I grew up with quite a few of these. You kept teasing me in the beginning of the video, I kept seeing the Meister Klasse in the background. I remember those from the Kris Kringle markets. Memories! Looking forward to part 2!

Boys! I love your Christmas tree! You did a great job decorating!! Ahhhhhh......Brother Satoshi, Christmas and cinnamon go hand-in-hand for us. I’m soooo sorry that you don’t care for the flavor of it. I try to have cinnamon scented candles and potpourri around my house, especially around this time of year. ☺️ Thank you boys for sharing all of the delicious treats. We have Aldi, a German based market out here, so the brand of chocolates we do have, and I have tried (and liked) the Oblaten Lebkuchen gingerbread wafers. I love the texture and flavor of them. Thanks again my brothers! ♥️♥️

Your pronunciations of German words are actually quite good! ^.^
Just a hint for the word Spekulatius: The T in the suffix -tius is pronounced as a Z sound (as is also the case when a word ends with -tion), so it's said like Spekulazius.
(Edit: I've removed my remark about Giotto. I was scatterbrained and missed that it was a special Christmas-flavoured version. Oops.)

And boy oh boy, Satoshi I love your bearded look, a handsome man as always but it really suits you. So sorry you don't have like a craving for christmas spices, for me I can't get enpugh like in my coffee or hot milk or breakfast cerrals: always tossing a lot of christmas spices in😂 Have a wonderful week you both ^^//

Th first Aachen [aːxən] pronounciation was right.
Ch in German is either /ç/ or /x/ (depends on the sound after it) and S before T, P or combined with CH is /ʃ /

Several of those products like stollen, wafer gingerbread etc our Aldi stores stock. For sure you should include Germany when you head to Amsterdam next year, too many countries to explore. Thanks guys, looks yummo

I'm just like Satoshi. 😅I don't like cinnamon, anise or ginger powder in biscuits or cookies.
    ● But if these spices are used in savoury dishes, 🍲🥘like in our Singapore-style chicken curry and Ngor-Hiang rolls (ie prawn-meat rolls in beancurd skin, with 5-spice powder), then I would find the spices palatable.

    i know japanease politenes
but there is no need to say sorry for not liking something
I dont like onions and they are in much more stuff if i had to say "tut mir leid" every time that would be awefull
its alright to not like everything
most germans would not enjoy natto or wasabi thats just normal
