They expected the Devourer, their guards were up. They didn't expect that broken buggy mess, they were more or less blindsided by it and as such went through a potentially traumatic fight which they narrowly won.
The hex when entering the area translates to "The Void," the broken speech from the npcs resemble corrupt code, not able to make anything out of it other than one 'oxffffff' which is essentially just code for a small portion of memory being completely full. The binary that Lance says in the fight translates to "monika did this." This might be a fun little joke about Doki Doki Literature Club, saying that in her pursuit of an escape, Monika broke the code of a steam game that is entirely separate from the one she's in. The hex that Lance says next translates to "DELETE SYSTEM 32 TO WIN" pretty self explanatory.
@@retro2621 Big glitch is basically kinda a misunderstatement. Since what they really meant is that the Big Boss Glitch litterally summons copies of.. itself. At the same level as it does with all of the benefits and everything. And even if you kill the original, they can also summon their own replacements in turn. So unless you can insta-wipe 3 of them at the same time before that happens. Your shit outta luck. Never in a game where a boss straight up summons copies of itselves to fuck you over. Even after you killed the original.
Late but whatev. Using any kind of weather affecting ability (Anna's Mother Earth, Certian Captured foes) will let you see normally again. Quite helpful for those who don't know what to do or don't know the boss yet.
How to defeat the Boss :) 1st Get Matt's Limit break 2: Use Hidden Power [Limit break skill if you completed Quests that requires Bottles to get Empty Bottles] 3. Use Bezerker 4th: It's Killing Spree Saturday 4.5th: Use anna's Triple Shot using any bow that doesn't have a effect 5th: Kill all remaining foes
You can actually farm here. If you want gold, equip hockey stick, hobo clothes, and fake mustache on matt, use steal and run away. You can sell the game childs. If you want AP, equip the hockey stick, use temper on Matt, use dehabilitate with some other character, and encore on Matt. Use cleaver to one shot the glitch.

One of the possibilities for the skill icons to turn into is the word "MONIKA" with missing letters (I don't remember which ones), directly referring, probably, to the broken poem she asks you to write in Act 3.
There is a way to survive an attack from the glitch. If you equip the tetris like flare (i forgor the name), all damages taken that ends with a 4 will become 4 damage instead. So it takes a lot of rng to do it

Me who's first save file decided to go on epic mode just to troll matt after he said to turn the game to easy mode yet somehow won on the first few attempts
there are three possibilities: 1. you're fighting one of the SMALL glitches (name contains 0xff45) in which case, one of their defenses will be negative. if i'm remembering correctly the slime has negative physical, while the idol has negative magical. this means that for that damage type, things are reverse (elemental works, non elemental doesn't) because dividing a positive number by a negative number gives a negative number. 2. you're using skills with elements. even 50% element heals this boss because his resists are 300, not 200. 3. you have a flair that changes the element of your weapon. i'm not sure if these are even a thing because i haven't played in a long time, but status flairs are a thing, so who knows what wacky stuff matt added in v2

It pains me you didn't use Morale and Auto Revive effect to avoid Instant Kill. Also you need Dispel Resistance unless you can stack Blessings too. Max HP, Defense, Magic Defense and Evade is useless so just focus on Attack/Magic and Accuracy especially Accuracy so you can always kill the minion when it spawn. Auto Heal also nice too although if it doesn't recover half HP then it's meaningless as Morale active more than 50% HP You can use Genesis at start to get Auto Revive for as Glitch attack going to full your Limit Break. And have Natalie use revive to put Auto revive to the one losing it as Glitch can kill backup
Well, you can use equips that give morale or summons a monster that gives morale, plus regen so you can get over half health, and possibly auto-revive equips.

Changing the weather is the best so you have to check the debuffs, buffs, etc if you're battling the glitch. Use the summon that change the weather

That boss was more easy then i expected and i beat that in epic with the equipment without elements and multishots of Lance.

You have to either explore more or find all glitch levels. When i did this in my first try, i died. So you should kill this "thing" when you already finished the game
