- The Artimus Pyle Band invited Robert Kearns to sit in on bass during their performance of "I Know A Little" during the 2013 Rock Legends Cruise. Carolina Mixer caught this performance in Studio B of the Liberty Of The Seas cruise ship.

Saw Artimus in Riverhead Long Island with That Guitarist. Great small venue, Great covers. Folks Remember please Gaines created these licks and it was actually watered down for Skynyrd from his original version. So is it Steve in front of you? No Thank you For paying tribute to one of the greats..Steve Gaines.

Excellent job. I know of an old band ( no longer with us ) that could only do it this good or better. The drummer still plays but the last original guy just passed. Artimus has always been my favorite drummer too.

The current Lynyrd Skynyrd are a bunch of sellouts - JVZ and Gary Rossington should be ashamed of themselves. They should have pulled the plug when Leon Wilkeson and Billy Powell passed away! This band SHOULD NOT still be using the Skynyrd name.
I love em’ too! Saw them in North Dallas around 1999 and they were fabulous! Even got my new Dallas Cowboy hat signed by Artimus! If anyone plays guitar and wants to learn these songs to the exact notes, check out Scott Raines on TH-cam who’s playing lead guitar here! They want these songs to go on forever played correctly! Scott Raines and Jerry Lyda (plays Less Paul) got to spend three years off and on visiting Ed King learning the right way for all the licks, before he passed!
Saw this band last night, everyone has their own opinion and mine is these guys don't compare to Gary's band they seem to be. Half step slower and sounded lost at times. I am not a musician but know skynyrd music well just glad was a free show

Sorry to disagree, but this is very good. Like to see you play it. Yes, the original or various version of the original LS with Ronnie is optimal, but with the current LS, I would take these guys over them any day of the week. They play for the love of the music, not for the dollars.
I bet they'd take the money and fame if they could. Skynard used those two things up long ago. These guy's sound great though.

I love Artimus but this not good folks. Steve Gaines , had they lived on, would have taken over Skynyrd and they would have grown to incredible heights . He changed that band for the better in a very short period of time. I say this as Skynrd is my second favorite band of all times. Steve was better than any single player in the band there were sure some great ones.

Ronnie recognized Steve's talent the first time he did T for Texas and T for Tennessee with them. It's sad that their great talent had gotten cut so short.....
I thought they did pretty good. And yes Steve was just phenomenal, singing, writing and pickin’. Lynyrd Skynyrd was about to explode. All the guitar players were fantastic and Allen and Gary just had different styles.

Its not OK in Artimus Pyle's opinion that the current Lynyrd Skynyrd lineup to call themselves Lynyrd Skynyrd, even though they have an original Skynyrd member & a founding member at that, in Gary Rossington to do some of the 70's original Skynyrd songs, but yet its OK in Pyle's eyes that he himself who happens to be a NON ORIGINAL SKYNYRD MEMBER to be allowed to do some of the original 70's Skynyrd songs with his band. OK. Got it. Just checking. Ya know what that makes Pyle don't ya? A hypocrite. Who the hell is Pyle a NON ORIGINAL SKYNYRD BAND MEMBER I might add, say who has or doesn't have, the right to play some of the original 70's Skynyrd on stage? He does, so what's he bitching about? He's just pissed at Skynyrd because they booted his ass out of the band. Its ROCK N ROLL what can I say? We can ALL speculate about this and that,weigh in on matters we know nothing about,but I would bet a bottle of Jack Daniels that Ronnie Van Zant would raise holy hell at what calls itself "Lynyrd Skynyrd" today. Not a drop of musical integrity in the post-crash lineup,and as far songwriting integrity goes, Artimus displayed more of that with his Venomous album alone,than all of the "new"(?) Skynyrd's albums put together. The man has never turned his back on Ronnie, yet every single one of those "original" band members have sh!t talked about Ronnie,more than once...after his death. I saw Artimus in June in Austin,Texas and he proudly told the audience that he was Bob's replacement,and still hasn't learnt Bob's skills properly but he was trying the best he could to honor Bob's skills and Brother Ronnie Van Zant's legacy...until he no longer is able too. Why? Because he loved Ronnie and misses him deeply. You've made yer point, Allan...you have a very tired old personal axe to grind towards Artimus. The magic was gone the moment that plane crashed. You can't bring it back. When Led Zepplin lost their drummer, they too knew it was over and stopped playing as Led Zepplin and went out on their own. That original sound is gone forever. Don't taint its memory with sub -par music.
