I just came out the hospital for acute pancreatitis, thankfully in AZ I can walk into a dispensary without repercussions, I took one gummy and noticed it helped me a lot with pain and appetite, I would love to contribute more to studies

I know this first hand an it definitely needs to be studied, because it has gratefully helped me

It's great to hear that you had a positive experience with medical cannabis for your pancreatitis.

Does this help with pain or help with the flare ups overall?

I looked into this after my most recent doctors appointment. I have chronic pancreatitis and he told me absolutely no cannibis and gave me pain killers that haven't been very effective. Just going to give me stronger ones now. Wish there was more known about it, it helped my pain so much better.

Thank you for sharing about your experience, Hannah. It's great to hear that it has helped with your pain. More research is definitely necessary, and we will continue to advocate for more research and better care for pancreatitis patients!

After suffering a five-day hospital stay in mid-September 2022, I followed my doctor's advice, stuck to a strict, very low-fat/non-fat diet with plenty of vegetables and fruits... yet still suffered flare ups. The painkillers that were given on discharge (Norco 10mg TID) were effective for about 2 hours and that's it.
After suffering for months and months, I decided to try CBD/CBG Hemp Flowers, which were somewhat effective -- however, I noticed a significant improvement when using cannabis WITH THC along with CBD/CBG.
I felt the familiar pains, aches, and tightness surrounding my upper abdominal area and tried to wait it out... but after an hour, I caved in and smoked the aforementioned combination of THC and CBD+CBG flower.
The pains and tightness went away within 30 minutes and lasted the entire evening. I was actually able to eat a "normal" meal, e.g., one with a normal amount of fats.
Since then, I have had one flare-up (lasting approximately 4 days), but I strongly recommend any fellow sufferers to read into CBD, CBG, and THC in treating pancreatitis and other inflammatory bowel diseases.
Thank you for the work and hope you continue your research to a condition unknown to so many.

It appears daily cannibis intake may have caused my pancreatitis, or maybe a contributor? I definitely feel more discomfort immediately smoking it. Most places on the Internet have advised to totally stop smoking cannibis (which I have now done), but here on your video you are talking about using cannibis for treatment. What can you tell me about cannibis as the cause of pancreatitis?

There is not a lot of research on this. Here is an article that provides a case study: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7953271/#:~:text=Cannabis%20is%20an%20unusual%20cause,depth%20understanding%20of%20this%20condition.

Bob i think its a good idea too. The days I smoke heavy my body suffers. I think cannabis can be great for certain people but for pancreatitis it makes me bloated and affects my food metabolism. .. more mal absorption and oily poops

For several years, I would use cannabis for pain management. I was injured at my job, and i have been in pain since.
In 2017, I started to have new pain under my ribs and thru my back. Testing and more testing and blood work turned up that my lapas was elevated. After thousands of dollars and countless appointments, my Dr thought that my cannabis use was contributing to my problem. Stopped taking cannabis and my blood work came back better, almost normal. So I continued not to use it, and a few more days passed, and retest. My Lipase returned to the 200s (normal). After 5 years of not using cannabis my pancreatitis seems to be almost nonexistent. I'd get pancreas pain from time to time, but it was manageable. I still had my work injury pains that I get daily.
So this time, I thought I'd go through the proper channels and obtain my med card and hope that I could return to using cannabis as a way to help with my pain. It helps a lot, I admit. Then , one day, I didn't feel right. More days passed, and I started to get my pancreatitis back. 😢
Just when I thought everything was going to be okay. Now I'm back to where I started. Feeling miserable. I got blood work done today, and my results came back with my lapase 2500... 😢😢. Well, it was an eye-opener.
I believe that a certain strain I smoked was to blame. Or maybe it is the the thc vape I used. Either way.... I have to stop again, I'll retest in two weeks.
I applied to the cannabis trails but was denied due to the program being full. Sadly.. I really wish I could get in some kinda study so we can learn more about the debilitating disease.

@@daledavis5470Its a similar experience for me. I don't have pancreatitis but I had my gallbladder removed and have Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. I also have a fatty liver. Cannabis was helping me through a medicine taper, significantly improving my quality of life. Then I started getting severe nausea, bile problems... it became undeniably linked. I stopped and within 2 weeks, I was back to normal. I take a TINY dot of RSO at night but that's all I've got. I miss it so much :(
