I don't think Kelvin lost his brainpower, I think he went deaf, just from the first few minutes of gameplay. Because the notepad being how you tell him what to do and him understanding it and being able to do things like build fires suggests that he's still mentally there, if not a little confused and disoriented from the concussion he probably has. I'm no medical expert though so I have no idea. Also if you burn the cannibals you get bones, which makes bone armor, at least that was in the first game. So that's what you can do with them.
Hey drae, that geen marker that you came across is actually an underground area. Where you came across that abandoned golf cart, there was a tunnel behind it that lead to a underground lab of some sort. You should go back to check it out.

You can make tons of different things when not using the prebuild schematics. Just start putting logs and sticks on the ground and testing what you can do with axe when pointing different parts of the logs. Just a lil tip: Don't start making things from 2 sides and then connect. Just keep making from 1 side and expanding as you go since connecting 2 things to make something between them 2 is just too hard to get right.
Dude in Skilly's stream of this last night he had just finished his treehouse after it got knocked down a few times and then told kalvin to gather wood and the frickin idiot chopped down the tree that the treehouse was in!!! It was soooo damn hilarious but sooo fricked up cuz it had already been destroyed a couple times already so be careful and watch him if you tell him to gather wood...lol loved this video man keep em comin! That and you can get a lot of canvas by telling Kelvin to build you shelters...

Hey Drae, spoiler for the GPS tag ahead. You can put a stick in the ground by switching the placement mode when holding it (like you are going to make a fire). Then you can attack a gps tag to it. Hope that helps, can't wait for the next episode.

This game is def a huge improvement from the original game that brought this survival genre out into the open! The seemless transitions and a really short intro to get it started is also a plus! Can't wait to get my hands on this when I get a gaming laptop! Its def gonna be a contender for game of the year if the devs continue to work on this very much polished game (from what I've seen at this point epoch isn't very much)
Oooh, drae One of the major things with the first game is that the more you kill the enemies, the more they show up to attack you. Probably shouldn't have killed that first one
Please play more, love your longer survival series' (Green Hell is one of my favorites to go back and rewatch) Also yeah, that pilot was really dumb. You would never want to just climb out. You'd first look around and see who else is alive, then you'd look for any sort of route down to safety, then carefully climb, holding the main helicopter. What you would absolutely not do is immediately jump onto the door
Drea, you missed something with the inventory, when you open up that pack you will see a white controller box, you can change the lights and stuff in that pack ,looks awesome
Survival tip #1: Don't enter any bodies of water where you cannot see the bottom, and if you can see the bottom, do not swim farther than the point where you stop seeing the bottom. This tip has worked out pretty well for me so far.
