Bro said "size of limgrave" this dlc is like the size of other souls games its ridiculous
Not sure if it's true but I have seen that the size of the dlc is basically the same GB as the base game of ds3, either way it's basically another game
@@rtd8677 it's not, it's just over 16Gb the advertised size is the base game
It's bigger than limgrave by alot.
It's is bigger than limgrave and has a few more main areas like stormveil etc but some areas definitely feel unfinished empty and pointless and I rate elden ring and the dlc a 10 but some of the dungeons suck and there are far too few placed about the map the base game I felt like I was finding something every few minuites and alot of the dlc felt empty especially finding smithing stone 1s etc after having followed a path somewhere
Size of limgrave, but the verticality out the ass
Miyazaki said the size of Limgrave and managed to pack half of caelid in it lmao.
It's vastly bigger than Limgrave. It's Limgrave, but has like eight layers. In total, it's almost as big as the base game's overworld.
@@TheStraightestWhitest its not even close to the size of the overworld? have you even played past godrick?
Im saying he lied lol i thought it was way bigger when i started exploring everything @TheStraightestWhitest
Its legit, half of the lands between PLUS some elevation.
I mean, it's literally the size of that central ocean, because that's where the Land of Shadow was originally before Marika sealed it away...
ngl you had me thinking you were about to hate lol
i thoght something attack from behind
After he finished this section no way he was satisfied. 3 dragons and very big empty spaces in-between with like 1 blessing and 1 cookbook. Probably 10 mins of horse riding. Yeah, incredible for 40$.
I though he will say about reused dragons.
Go buy your 130$ deluxe ubisoft game buddy@@SunwishMaximal
@@SunwishMaximal do better
"It's about the size of Limgrave"
Yeah, if you include Weeping Peninsula, and half of Caelid. Also it has that size again stacked on top of it, and that size AGAIN below it, because of verticality.
Base game is multilayer too. The DLC is limgrave sized + a bit bigger. But nothing crazy like some fans claim. It is more packed with content than Limgrave is though but that is to be expected.
@@EfecanYSL geographically bigger than limgrave, but more importantly more compact than most of the base game areas.
This means it's effectively even bigger despite physicallly taking up a smaller space, which is just perfect in my opinion.
id argue its just the base game overworld, sliced into layers, then stacked on top of each other like a lasagna
Weeping peninsula is still limgrave tho
@@Frank-kq4teliurnia, limgrave, weeping peninsula and caelid are the four separate regions at the bottom
40 bucks for basically 2 expanisions in 1. Really big map for DLC for sure sad its gonna be the only 1
it actually *was* gonna be 2 dlcs according to insiders: an expansion about messmer, then an expansion about miquella. they decided to combine them shortly after the base game released
Yeah, 5 hours of new content and 15 copypaste, returning tree sentinels, 6 dragons, half dragon shitty enemies, fallingstar, 6 hippos, 8 giants etc etc, talismans +3 versions of existing, barely any new ones, empty as fuck world
Ctrl+c Ctrl+v 40 euro
Season pass for dark souls 3 is 25$. Less copypaste, actual 2 dlcs included.
@@SunwishMaximal man is going through every comment hell nahhh💀
@@SunwishMaximal sucks to be you, i guess
@@SunwishMaximal clown L take 🤡
They just set the new standard for DLC quality AND quantity in the age of micro transactions. It’s damn close to just being Elden Ring 2… which might still be coming, who knows
I am sorry but there are plenty of expanions like this. This is not a new standard, just a good one.
Fair enough, I’m not familiar with expansions like this aside from maybe monster hunter world’s iceborne expansion. What other similar expansions are there?
@@bencarlson4300 well on monster hunter topic sunbreak
But also blood&wine, DA awakening, many mmo expansions, SMT Vengance, Phantom Liberty and much more.
Some of them are smaller but also cost less and offer a similar quantity of content
@@asnor7588 The only one anywhere near this level of both quality and quantity is Blood & Wine.
@@asnor7588 I could be wrong since I haven't played SMT5:Vengeance specifically BUT I'm pretty sure SMT5: Vengeance isn't a dlc. It's a definitive version of the game.
For some reason Atlus generally doesn't sell big expansions, they group it with the base game and sell it as a definitive version so older copies end up not receiving the new content. It reminds me more of Persona 3: Fes/Portable, Persona 4: Golden and Persona 5: Royale where you had to buy the whole game again and couldn't reused your saves from the original game.
Atlus has been doing this for a long time so I should know better and I vow to wait for a definitive edition instead since I did buy most OG copies (SMT5 included) and the definitive versions of the games. That being said I will also out of spite not buy SMT5: vengeance. I'm tired of them reselling the game a year or two later instead of giving the option to buy the new content as a dlc/expansion.
I also believe most games don't offer this level of content in a dlc in terms of scale and/or quality but you did name some good examples like Blood&Wine for Witcher and Phantom Liberty for Cyberpunk 2077. I'm not familiar with DA awakening but MMO expansions can compete in scale but quality is arguable/dependent on the content offered.
This almost felt like sequel with just 40$ meanwhile other companies would charge like two skins for that.
*cough* bungie *cough*
@@ignitedember343*cough* diablo 🙄
Brother it was 15 hours of content. Most companies charge $20-$30 for that.
@@HahahMamamandayum, u should do a speedrun video if u really think u can clear the DLC within 15hrs
@@holymaggots70 I already beat it twice in 17 hours total. There’s almost no content. Big map does not equal a lot of content.
- Goes through dungeon thinking it'll just be a weapon or talisman in the end
- Discovers a new area the size of Caelid
Wtf Miyazaki
It’s really disappointing that this area and Cerulean Coast are as empty as they are
@@Wyrdist Idk Cerulean Coast still has some cool stuff, though mostly useful for int users.
Thats nothing. There's a boss hidden behind two illusionary walls, in a dungeon inside a whole giant area behind optional hidden catacoombs that were in another optional area hidden behind another invisible wall off to the side in an easily missable room inside The Shadow Keep.
@@dud5606 well my first play through was on a 60 dex but that’s not the point, my criticism is the lack of content, especially when this was supposed to be “the size of limgrave”. It’s not a good look when at least two entire regions are empty. Cerulean coast, Jagged peak, and even abyssal woods don’t cut it. The only thing that was kinda cool was abyssal woods disabling torrent. I don’t really care why they did it, but it almost felt like a distraction for why this area was as empty as the other two I named
Michael Zaki back at it again...
people complained about it being 40 dollas but it’s 100% worth 60
No it's not lol. Ringed city was literally 15$ and had equal content
@Jake-ALGSxNBPL f u goin on about.
@@Jake-ALGSxNBPL i mean obviously you haven’t played this dlc, ringer city had legit 3 bosses and a small area and you need the first dlc with is also 15 bucks to access the ringed dlc
@@Jake-ALGSxNBPLthis DLC alone has more content than entire DS3 with both of its DLCs.
@Jake-ALGSxNBPL ringed city was great but saying it is equal content to SOTE is outright lying or brain damage
This DLC is Elden Ring 2 in a disguise.
This DLC was so big it could have been the main game in 2022. Especially if they filled up some of the more empty places with stuff from the main actual main game.
Me andd my best friend went through the DLC together as our first time playthrough and when I got despawned after the dragon man fight i remember my friend saying "Holy shit, there's more to this dungeon?" And a few seconds later he just said "Wow..... you gotta summon me for the fight, this is too cool" after we killed the Dragon man again I audibly gasped at the view. Yeah.... needless to say that this DLC is just Elden Ring 1.5 and they were god damn liars about it being ONLY the size of Limgrave. Best expansion ive played in a sold minute. Most AAA games would ask this price for 3 skins and a new emote meanwhile Fromsoft cooked astronomically hard on this.
"didn't expect tranquility… and then visions of bliss"
It took me longer to finish Shadow of the Erdtree than it took for my first playthrough of Dark Souls. It’s seriously a gargantuan expansion.
It’s bittersweet to see that this is the last new piece of Elden Ring we’ll ever get, but I hope From doesn’t try making a sequel. They’ve really done all they can with the Lands Between. Ideally they’d innovate with something new from the ground up as they did with Bloodborne and Sekiro instead of just continuing to tack things onto the Demon’s Souls formula. Let Shadow of the Erdtree be the dignified end of a glorious era. Let something greater still arise in its place.
Nah dude the setting has so much more to offer
I got about 60-70 hours out of it which makes it about a third of the length of a base game completionist playthrough.
They are litereally doing that, they know that if you create something you cant create in infinityly and it still would be as good as first thing. They are working now on multipile project and thing is they will be directed by other people, for example there is game in production from the guy that created bloodborne fighting system and sekiro deflect system. And I cant wait for that tbh.
I feel the same however, there is still so much elden ring has to offer. I feel another dlc can easily be made, its practically begging for it.
Nintendo: We spent six years trying to make three layers of the map for our newest 70 dollar Zelda game. Nobody can top us!
Miyazaki: *Hold my beer. I’mma about to do it in less*
Comparing development time of a dlc to a full game is wild 🤣
@@tyr573 Funny you say that because Tears of the Kingdom WAS just originally DLC to Breath of the Wild. Nintendo just decided to create an entire new engine that they decided to make a full on 70 dollar “sequel” instead.
Miyazaki went full gigachad mode of basically making Elden Ring 2 and sold it for less lmao
@@cloudshines812totk has much more to it than dlc adds (an actual story i enjoyed more at least) 😂although i wish it has more stuff in some areas kinda my same complaint with SotE especially the woods and ruins
You truly are like fucking ignoring one of the most programming complex gameplay ever made…
@@cloudshines812just because it was supposed to be a dlc doesn’t mean it turned out like one. It’s has way more content than sote.
I personally feel this DLC or rather I'd say expansion is the size of DS3 in itself.
The map in itself is enormous , not to mention the quality and quantity of bosses and content.
It is definetly not the size of all of dark souls 3 if ur including dlcs but maybe the size of base ds3 without some optional areas sure
I wouldn’t exactly say the bosses are quality. Maybe a few like messmer, midra, bayle, and divine beast, but the rest were pretty bad.
@@HahahMamamancould you name a “bad boss” because I can’t think of one
@@PrinceSieburt final boss, gaius, scadutree avatar, finger mother, putrescent knight.
@@HahahMamaman I agree. These people are just having a recency bias. Give it a few months and a few replays and they'll dislike them too. There is nothing to like about scadutree avatar or gaius.
I beat the boss of Darklight Catacombs and ended up in Los Angeles, whole new area full of LA people
This map is more accurately about the size of half the overworld due to how layered it is
$40 for "CURSE YOU, BAYLE!!" is worth it.
Largest Fromsoft DLC for the Largest Fromsoft Game
This would of been a 70 dollar sequel if it was made by ea
It would be 70 dollar but wouldnt be a sequel but instead some random VIP++ feature.
Don’t forget MW3
>“Foot of the Jagged Peak”
>look inside
>no foot
so far thats my favorite area in the dlc and maybe even in the whole game, how they managed to tease "you know who" as the main boss at the end of that area was something else, the higher you get up the mountain, it just kep getting more and more metal, so fckn awesome
Not really a spoiler but wait till you get to the cerulean coast. Chef Kiss 🤌
And other people defend some preorder, ultimate edition of a game that gives you 5 breadcrumbs and 2 skins with 2-3 DLCs (that are just characters) that is $40 over the base game price.
i died more to dancing lion alone than 17 times
*Rellana enters the chat*
On NG++ I died to Messmer exactly 121 times.
It was my fault though for not exploring more and getting more fragments.
I made up for it by beating Bayle in six attempts using the dragon lightning.
The people who complain about the 40 bucks are probably the same people who bought the King Kong glove in MW3
How does that make any sense lol
Literally saw those mountains from a cliffside and thought “Wow they did really great job on the background. Be cool if I could actually climb that mountain tho.”
“size of limgrave”
apparently limgrave includes the entirety of caelid and liurnia
Love the enthusiasm
Unfortunately, this area is really boring until you get to that awesome boss at the end.
Idk about that. Just climbing and watching every detail was super fun to me. Not every area needs to be full of enemies or secrets to be memorable.
I like how the first cave I decided to explore lead to an entire madness area. And then this was the second cave I explored
Ubisoft: So for 60$ i can give you an skin for your horse and your ship
From software: 60$? No bro i'm fine with 40? Btw take your DLC is pretty much... a sequel
And you CLIMB THAT MOUNTAIN
And fight From Soft's best dragon at the top!
@@SpaceWhaIe BAYLE, VILE BAYLE!
Only if you consider running in a straight line and fighting 2 reused bosses as "climbing". DLC has some awesome areas but in terms of gameplay this is not one of them.
Todd Howard made this game lol, if you know you know
@@SpaceWhaIehe really is the best dragon boss I’ve ever fought in any game ever.
I also love how cinematic the whole area is leading up to that fight.
why does bro look so devious
+++
Single-handedly have made me sub and binge watch what ever content this dude puts out.
looks like a scene from the lord of the rings movie LOL
Shadow of the Erdtree does visual storytelling better than so many of their previous titles. The lead up to bayle, meeting metyr, MARIKAS HOME VILLAGE?! It is all so awesome
i never felt like this in a long time. But it just feels like money well spent
The landscapes in this game are amazing
Miyazaki released Elden Ring 2 labeled as a DLC and thought we wouldn't notice
This is a new game maskared as DLC bro From its insane its so good ❤
one of the best things about elden ring, is it UI, and how clean it is and how that improve the game so much
"A little bit bigger than limgrave” my brother in Christ Miyazaki, the dlc is bigger than dark souls 3
The only dlc I didn’t even think about watching a review before buying
Those crazy bastard made a sequel & call it dlc, respect
I honestly thought the first part was it until I found out it definitely wasn’t I was blown away how big this dlc is
This and Witcher's Blood and Wine are WHAT expansions/DLCs should be.
Remember when Expansions where a thing? Before the term DLC was even introduced and reduced to an excuse to sell cut content from the base game and skins? This is like going back to those good old days.
what a piece of art
It is also crazy the amount of things I stumble upon while playing the game. There is so much.
The whole time I was playing the DLC I was smiling ear to ear and getting goosebumps.
Ah, so this is what the greatsword rollcatchers look like in person...
Ugly ahh greatsword rollcatchers posting clips
This is the only game I’ve ever played that has brought me back to the old days of playing WoW.
This is basically Elden Ring: Burning Crusade.
"The size of Limgrave" after comparing the maps, it's more like the size of Liurnia and Altus Plateau combined
Not only the map is surprisingly big, but it's also a lot more dense, we have a lot more points of interest in less area, the dungeons and castles are way better than before, the level and world design increased a lot
this is so fcking sick
I woudve love to see his face when he went further up the mountain and the lightning storm started .
The view you see upon entering the location.
The bass of the ambient you hear at that place.
The thunderstorms you roam around while u get higher.
This is peak of gaming we live in.
Gorgeous views everywhere in this expansion
This DLC is incredible really
40$ for Elden Ring 2, Miyazaki really baited us with the "Size of Limgrave" announcement
Ive spent longer in the dlc than i ever have in the base game i think. Its such an amazing and huge dlc
I had to stop and admire the mountain as well 😂 that scenery is gorgeous and once you ascend up the mountain it looks so other worldly and the higher you go the more apparent it becomes that you're about to face something mighty.
When I first found the Jagged Peaks I literally said to myself this is calied 2.0
If you go further into the peak. It looks like Mordor.
And worth every penny🔥
i thought he was going to get one shotted from behind LOL
A bit bigger than limgrave, but 5 of those stack one onto another.
"That is a full-on red-mana-granting Magic the Gathering mountain"
-Me at this vista
its crazy cuz all i can see is even more reused enemy spam
Bro hasn't played it
Miyazaki is a fucking liar saying its the size of limgrave and i fucking love him for that
For the price of this expansion, you can have TWO (!!!!!!!!!!!) skins in Halo Infinite...
2 *ugly skins
one valorant knife
The dlc is basically the size of ds1 i think
I managed to miss this area entirely not knowing Radahn was the final boss..
This same moment happens 30 times throughout the DLC
i hate it when i don't know where to go in other games. But being lost or stuck in elden ring because you don't know where to go feels so good for some reason.
The size of limgrave if limgrave was a block of Swiss cheese
Someone tell Miyazaki that size means both the Vertical and Horizontal portion of the map
Worth every penny.
40 dollars wisely invested it seems🎉
They said the size of limgrave, they just forgot to mention it was 7 limgraves stacked on top of each other
size of Limgrave, include it's underground parts
This and Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty were both incredible DLCs
We really got our money's worth with this one, boys.
literally the Jagged Peak is as big as Ariandel dlc.
This is why I love Fromsoftware putting detail into everything. They have a huge ass map and allot of stuff in it but they still make everything unique and grand looking somehow. Making you feel like your in another otherworldly land. Dlc is huge too by itself i wasn't expecting itvto be this big of a scale but glad they still have some quality in the dlc.
I felt like I was playing Elden Ring 2
This dlc map is as big as limgrave and caelid together, plus a little bit more
It looks very much like Kenshi, just needs to introduce cyborgs and aliens in there.
Sure it's big and many well hidden path to access new area. But I like the quality more. The new enemies and mechanics make even the older Elden Ring players reminisce the feeling of how to be on the losing side again and have to explore more and/or git gud.
I think the dlc is actually the size of the base game only layered more. It's practically It's own game.
Thats cool but I wish there weren't locations with a size of Volcano Manor and only containing one item each (looking at you, Finger Ruins of Rhea and Dheo)
So we are glazing?
I mean it’s there only and last DLC, glad it’s big though
“It’s about the size of limgrave” yeah right lmao
Everyone kneel to the God Miyazaki
This game is amazing
"Size of limgrave" this is literally just a whole game
I have the feeling the scale of the basegame map and of the dlc map are not the same. This DLC has to be as big as the basegame without the underground cities and farum azula and the haligtree.
This is the coolest area in the WHOLE game... INSANE
Actual braindead consoomer.
Yeah Bro it doesent have to be Unreal Engine 5 just this ART ❤
