How do scammers always manage to get steam support to give them items back but if you are an average joe and you get scammed steam support will do nothing for you.
scammers attempt different ways all day. i mean everyone knows about steam scams but there are so many different ways to get scammed to keep track of lmao they just pose as different people constantly wtih different 'problems' probably
the funny fact that most of the people are getting complete morons in their steam support request that can only say that the market operations cannot be reversed and provide literally no help whatsoever with anything. So my assumption is that it's either done by a VALVE's employee, or his friend.
You guys are braindead. Valve always refunds skins that disappear when it's valve's fault. If someone scams you, you will never get those skins back. If valve fucks up, they will restore the skins.
Reminds me of another case of a dupe recently like a couple years ago. Guy adds steam balance to an expensive inventory account using a 3rd party processor which only needs a steam username to add funds. Guy then contacts steam support saying he "lost" access to the account and uses the receipt of them adding funds to the account as proof of ownership. Steam gives the guy the account. Guy quickly sells all the skins from the account. One of the buyer bought a skin from the phisher and puts it in the storage unit. Original owner of the account get their account back from steam and their skins. Anyone that bought the skins off the phisher got their skins taken away except for the ones that put the skins in the storage units. Those skins got duped.
One thing to note. In 2023 Valve has added a new function to the Steam Community Market. If your item gets sold for "unusual" price the transaction is placed on hold until some investigations. This was supposed to be an anti-scam feature or maybe anti-laundry. However, Valve once again showed its incompetence, because despite the transaction being holded, the skin (or any other item) was still transferred to the buyer and there were no restrictions to it. He could do anything with it.
lol, i owned that ak redline dig holo 3 years ago, feels funny to be seeing it in a dupe video years later. Sold it on buff to a chinese guy who borrowed it to a friend who then scraped the stickers. ( the guy with the cook as profile pic he checked my profile)
I sold a st fn ak red laminate, a stupidly illiqud skin, to a buy order on buff around a month ago. The buy order was at over $350 above market (well, above recent sales) for the skin, which i found absurd, so as soon as i sold it, i checked who the buyer was. The steam profile was not even fully set up. Soon after, a st fn ak red laminate sold on steam (this is quite noteworthy, since due to the illiquidiy of the skin, about 2 are sold on steam per year). Checking the history of the skin now, the guy i sold it too now has his inv privated, and there is a third owner, who is community banned. So that was for sure duped lol
during 2018 ish, i accidentally duped a skin when trading to myself. i never managed to recreate it, and i doubt itll ever work again, but if someone manages to get it to happen again, you'd never know
