    My theory is that the Staircase collapsed and some pieces floated out when the bow made impact on the sea floor. Some fell to the bottom and some just crushed into pieces and floated up.

    When the 97 film was being made, the stair case started to buckle and pin stunt performers and actors, putting them in a dangerous situation. It was built just like it was in 1912 just a bit bigger to accommodate for filming and night of people in current times. James Cameron had no intention of this happening, so his guess was that this might have happened in the real night.

      @@jeanscuissiato135 it was and was not. The real one was smaller compares to the one used for filming, like. The one for the movie had to be bigger for people not being taller than the time period and filming as well. it was built pretty close to the real one, just adjusted for modern times and filming.

      So hundreds of tons of solid oak just floated away did it??…..No…It didn’t …..It didn’t in the film either!….That was just broken off wall panelling and other movable wooden fixtures and furnishings that floated free…..It was secured to the bulkhead on every deck….It never moved an inch….It simply rotted away over the decades, inside the Bow Section on the ocean floor!

    There are a lot of Iron Balustrades that were part of the Grand Staircase... Those would still exist somewhere, perhaps at the bottom....I am surprised none of those balustrades have been seen... Not even the one on C deck in front of the Purser's office....

  • @toddkurzbard
    @toddkurzbard 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    I've always been of the same mind as you : I find it hard to believe that the Grand Staircase simply floated up in its' entirety, and floated out of the dome area cleanly and entirely intact. I agree with your scenario.
    Also, "RAISE THE TITANIC" came out in 1979, not 1985. I remember, because I was first on line to see it at the time.

    • @dizzydevil547
      @dizzydevil547 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree with that too it didnt just float up intact , but came loose when it flooded and the dome broke and dummped a ton of water from above onto it FORCE OF SAID WATER BROKE SOME OF IT UP and broke it away from the superstructure (just like what happened filming james camerons titanic) and when it hit bottom that was it for it ...what was loose wood may have floated out and some of the iron and wood handrails have been found on the sea bed BUT there is a bit of confusion as to if they were off the grand satircase OR the secondary AFT 1st grand staircase that was situated between the 3rd and 4th funnel just on the edge of the breakup and missing midsection of the wreck as both starcases had the same design on the stair handrails!
      As for their RAISE THE TIANIC COMMENT ...No1 they said 1980 not 85! and No 2 i bet that was 1 hr 59 mins of your life you will never get back 🤣😉 ...JOKING aside it truly was an awful film and after so much publicty ect , grossing about $7 million against an estimated $35 million budget. Producer Lew Grade later remarked "it would have been cheaper to lower the Atlantic". The screenplay also underwent numerous rewrites.
      Clive Cussler (The author of the novel that was a best seller) was furious with the final result, because most of the original plot had been rejected leaving a hollow shell of his story; additionally he felt that the casting was wrong. Elements of the novel which did survive into the film were the discovery of the cornet that leads the search party to the wreck, and the eventual discovery of the mineral not in the Titanic cargo hold, but in the Southby graveyard, although in the novel's story it is exhumed and the Sicilian Project is tested.
      Cussler was so disgusted with the film that he refused to give any permission for further film adaptations of his books.In 2006, Cussler sued the filmmakers of Sahara, a film adaption of his 1992 book, for failing to consult him on the script when it also made huge financial losses!

    Iv always thought that water didnt crash through the dome because there was a glazed cased weather protector enclosure above the dome!
    I always believed the dome was destroyed in the descent and stsircase simply corroded and fell to the bottom of the ship!

    The Grand Staircase was made of Solid Oak…..It was extremely heavy, solid and secured to all the bulkheads…It didn’t float out through the skylight!….The Grand Staircase never moved an inch…..It simply rotted away over time….The Aft Grand Staircase was totally destroyed as the Titanic broke apart, just forward of the third funnel!

    My theory when titanics bow hit the ocean floor and slid on the ocean floor before it digged its way seafloor and broke its back, the pressure of the air pushing down on titanic as she settles crushed the ship including the stairs, so after sometime later what’s left would’ve crumbled and crushed to the bottom, this is evident as the bottom floor on titanic has a lot of crumbled what looks to be what was originally the grand staircase. (That’s where the angel was recovered I believe)

    But really happened in the grand staircase that when the ship hit the bottom of the ocean there was a pressure that pushes down the back of the ship where the hall was break in half it bend down then when the pressure goes to grand staircase it destroyed it because the pressure of that air was so strong that it destroyed it to pieces but one of the index grand staircase one of the frame of it was intact so that means when the grand staircase fell down to e Deck the way because of the bacteria going to the wood it
    Rot away

    The green staircase is gorgeous. Some people might not like it, but I love it. Still I prefer the good old grain pattern of natural wood, especially when it's "exotic" like loop (a cancer-like growth on the tree, that can be sliced to make "plaqué"(sorry I'm not english-native) or turned on a lathe) I studied cabinet-making at cegep and It give me a second eye on the Titanic. I'm a fan of that ship since the movie came (I saw it twice in theather) and I drew it many many time (so much that the teachers where rolling there eyes every time I drew the Titanic, I was in elementary, 4th grade) I also went to the Halifax Maritime Museum to see actual fragment of the titanic (a deck chair, with a replica to try, and a carved wooden panel (also with a replica, to touch)) Now I'm high af and I forgot what I wanted to say XD
