@@pantheonstudiosaustralia onagar gauntlet on a commander and fusion blades on a crisis team just make sense for tau melee. But realistically our best hope is a cohesive force detachment that better facilitates auxiliaries with tau is probably the most we can hope for
Monat - the Tau doctrine of the “Lone Warrior” would be great as the heavy suit detachment. Essentially, turn commanders, battlesuits, Riptides and Stormsurges into an Imperial Knights style army of high cost, durability and damage units.
Oh boy - I still remember deleting Deathguard heroes with Coldstar commander with Fusion blasters, Onager gauntlet and Termoneutronic Projector, oh boy....The look on the face of one of my opponents... "YOU WHAT NOW ?!?"
Rinyon would be fun to see and an alternative to ret cadre. Might even allow the return of "point-blank volley" from 9th edition which was good fun on breachers. I would like to see the return of the hammerheads "ignores invulnerable saves", but as a once per battle 2cp strategm. Would give our hammerheads a nice bump into the strongest stuff. Could slot it into either the vehicle or prototype weapons detachment.
I agree about the likelyhood of an Auxiliary integration detachment. One possibility is it's call the Hunter Cadre (named after a 7th ed detachment) but I acknowledge that Kroot Hunting pack and Kauyon's translation both have 'hunter' in the name already so maybe not. Something tells me the detachment rule would be giving The Greater Good to Kroot and Vespids, or if not the full detachment rule, perhaps an enhancement or strat. Also re: Onager Gauntlet, it is already a relic in Crusade so GW might be a bit reluctant to put it in a detachment as well.
This would be awesome. Perhaps, like in the law, 1 battlesuit model (perhaps a Ghostkeel) gets completely super powered, like it's being piloted by Shas'o Kais 😁 Probably not very competitive but awesome good fun 😂
@@Leonix13 I wouldn't bank on a new model, but in one of the novels (can't remember which) he jumps into a Ghostkeel battlesuit, and demolishes everything in sight. So all GW would need would be a set of rules to make 1 Ghostkeel massively enhanced. It would be great fun to play, but of course, once the unit is dead (not always an easy thing to do to a Ghostkeel in 10th) you'd be without a detachment rule.
@JChristopherHarman yep, that was War of Secrets... I'd be cool with just rules where you could use a special Ghostkeel or Shadowsun with helmet on like in the first Dawn of War game.
Genuinely a really exciting month ahead not knowing what’s coming and when. Really nice to touch base with mates on a daily basis and break it down and chat
Would love a Bork’an Style detachment that has less strats, but instead, has more enhancements that cost 50-100 points each. There could be an onager gauntlet enhancement or a railgun that has a submunitions profile etc.
...great minds think alike apparently. Before I started watching, this was the detachment I wanted (mine was more a kais lone hunter style). Be x distance from other tau units get Y buff.
I really want something leaning to O’kais style stuff. The third student of puretide and the exemplar of the “way of the lone hero” something that really encourages running crisis commanders and the students of puretide solo, without squads.
The Circle of Blades reminds me of the old Sa’cea Sept rules. They were urban fighters and the Sept rule let vehicles fire into combat without the -1. What I really want is a rule that works for everyone, something like... T'au units get a bonus vs targets at Full strength, and Vespid/Kroot get a bonus vs targets below Full Strength... T'au soften them up, Allies get in and finish them. (or T'au vs above 1/2 strength, and K/V vs below 1/2, but that might be too strong)
I think a dedicated stealth and infiltration detachment would be neat. Maybe let it buff pathfinders and Kroot since they both scout and the Kroot have stealth. Plus Farsight basically has two detachments so give Shadowsun a 2nd detachment as well.
While the Rinyon idea is great, I think it's a bit 'wishful thinking.' It would put tau outside of the type of play that GW seem intent on it being. We'd also find ourselves in the unlucky position of our melee being good 'for tau,' rather than just 'good.' The only remedy to this would be the pistol keyword on every ranged attack, which would be great fun, but probably way overpowered 😊
I disagree that a melee detachement does not make sense for GW. Not having melee keeps a lot of people from not playing Tau. Having a melee detachment could drive some sales from people who are missing this. But yeah, we most probably get Kroot and the disappointment will be huge, or a Vespid detachement 😂
While I know Rinyon is about encircling your enemy I couldnt help but talk about Tau melee. I was yapping and cooking, don't @ me about lore :'D

This would be a great idea. buff up our heaviest. Riptides and stormsurge. I like

Would love to see a Armoured Interdiction Cadre, for our tanks.

I put Monat on the tau group focused on lone op, stealth & infiltration.

That would be awesome if paired with a Shas'o'kais model/rules.

I was just about to mention this. Heavy emphasis on ghostkeel. Lore wise, read up on shasokais you won’t be disappointed.

I painted my guys Dalyth, been using ret cad. Love the idea for melee tau haha.
Would love to see a tidewall fortification detachment
Thats some spicy cooking there mister, im liking it

Dal'yth detachment to take advantage of the new Vespid and Kroot models.
It would be sweet to have fusion blades on a crisis unit.

You get a like just for the thumbnail lmaaao
As someone who plays a 2000pt kroot only, zero tau army, the synergy detachment might tempt me to draft some tau "allies"
👍❤️🤘🔥
I would love to see a mech tau detachment. Also why aren't you my dad?
Where is the Faq that states Lone-Operative is reduced to 8 inches (?)
Check the dataslate on warcom. All reactive lone op strategems got changed to 18
Detachment that makes storm surge better ?
