Y'know, how in cricket, if the ball is knocked out of play its a 6 (or a 4 if it bounces/rolls out).. And in baseball, if its blasted out of the park its a home run.. Does rounders have a similar thing? 🤔
Yes the pitch has to be no less than 70 meters each side some are bigger but if it crosses the perimeter of the field it's a homerun but if it crosses 70 meters your entitle to go after it once its retrievable. A referee will deem it a homerun if it goes over the fence
Honestly, to grow this sport into something half way serious, I think a couple of things would need to be taken from modern baseball: Overarm pitching ( and the now necessary catchers gloves ), and at least a small padded "offhand" glove ( for taking those balls fired at you on base from your teamates, rather than catching). Can keep everything else as is.
But just play baseball then. Rounders is a perfectly cromulent game especially casually, but after baseball and softball, rounders' best unique feature is fielding without gloves which is not exciting enough a difference for a whole other pro sport@@shakes.dontknowwhatyergettin
Not enough appreciation for rounders, hope more clubs get a program going for it
