I grew up going to Disneyland so my sisters and I used to marathon this thing when it was Mulholland Madness back when the parks weren't so busy. We laughed like crazy at the hairpin turns and drops. Nowadays I'll ride it once if the line is not long and that is it.
How weird. I've ridden Goofy's Sky School probably over 50 times and have never been stopped during the ride. I don't think I've even seen in stop before unless the ride E-stopped or on the block brake before the final break run. Perhaps you were just unlucky on your visits.

I never rode this but I agree you along with a lot of the coaster community. Wild Mouse Coasters do NOT belong at a Disney park. My dream is that Disney Imagineering collaborated with the Gravity Group on a roller coaster that is themed to The Emperor's New Groove, and be like the fall to Yzma's secret lab. Now (I know that's a bit of a pipe dream but bear with me), that would be a much better roller coaster for California Adventure than a Wild Mouse. That or a family coaster themed to Encanto (again, another pipe dream, but a guy can dream can't he?).
It's kind of ironic. They change the layout and brake the roller coaster to be as gentle as possible and then the brakes are so brutal that it becomes uncomfortable. Makes you wonder what they were thinking? But that also applies to the low capacity. Such roller coasters are good for smaller parks, but have no place in large parks because they are too inconspicuous and offer too little capacity. But this is probably often intentional in order to sell more Faspasses. Disney did the same thing with Seven Dwarfes Minetrain, Crush's Coaster and other attractions.
Original DCA had some questionable decisions for sure, and this was not the worst. I have always liked the aesthetics of the boardwalk area, but the theme has been a curiosity, which has led to attractions with no clear direction.
I haven't ridden a Mach mouse coaster I like; Coast Rider, Fly were lame but I liked the Herschel Monster Mouse when it was at Playland Vancouver in the 70s and Psycho Mouse at California's Great America which I rode Oct. 28th.
The only point I gave Primeval Whirl Over this (before it was taken out) is that at least it kind of made sense with the carnival feel that Dinoland USA was going for even though the ride was not much better and also did not fit with disney
I'm generally a Disney purist and hate weakly themed Disney attractions. But I love Mild Mouse coasters so much that I enjoy this every time. Yes, it looks bad and Disney could have done WAY better with the presentation. I also like the views of the water from the top. This is more an example of how this park initially cut corners throughout its development because Eisner was spooked by the initial failure of Euro-Disney. So a cheap off the shelf wild mouse with cheap 2D signage was a way to add an attraction without real effort. I should be ashamed of Disney for adding it (much like everything at Dinoland at DAK.) But again, I'm a sucker for a Mild Mouse so I still like it, even though it doesn't belong.
There are more catwalks then Track on this coaster. Even on the drops, in case physics stops working. But it makes maintanance easy to check every bolt.
F*** this ride, I lost my phone to it because of how bumpy it is - fell out of my pocket entirely. 😭 Thankfully thanks to CMs I was able to get my phone back the next day, but that was a rough afternoon and evening!

Apple Zapple is way better, you get much better forces. I don’t remember much about Fly but I also think it’s better. Technic Coaster is better too because they don’t trim it very hard. Coast Rider is worse because it has those stupid shin guards, it is probably the worst wild mouse I’ve ever ridden.
These Mack wild mouses do tend to have car-crash stops. The one I rode most recently (Ricochet at Carowinds) doesn't have much braking and is really quite good for a wild mouse overall, but if it stacks all the way to the last friction brake before the station (I think that would be a triple-stack?), you'd better watch out! It's almost as if someone at Mack watched Magnum XL-200 doing a C-set (th-cam.com/video/1zI-aHcJBIY/w-d-xo.html) and was like "Das können wir auch!"
I know this is a controversial opinion but I think closing down Muppet Vision 3-D was a big mistake because Disneyland has no Muppets attraction and Even though Muppet Vision 3-D is gone I think they should retheme the Paradise Gardens area with The Muppets The Little Mermaid attraction will stay because that is a great ride and I love it but the other attractions near it would close the Golden Zeppelins will be rethemed to Pigs in Space from The Muppet Show, Jumpin Jellyfish will be Themed to Hot airballoons themed to Kermit the Frog taken from The Great Muppet Caper, Goofy's Sky School will be Rethemed to The Great Gonzo's StuntMadness and instead of a Airplanes guests will ride on the Plunger car from the Muppet Movie and the attraction takes place in Gonzo The Great StuntShow and for his 3rd act he invited you the guests on his Plunger Car the beginning of the ride you see Gonzo in his cannon being launched in the sky and then your car jumps though a Fire hoop (Which is not a fire Hoop it's just a hoop painted orange but it glows in the Dark at Night), a circular Saw, and at the end you see Gonzo on his Motorcycle in a slingshow and at the end he crashing himself and the motorcycle on the Stunt show Building and you see his cutout and his Motorcycle on the Building which is a tribute Muppet Vision 3-D and then at the end you unload from the vehicle and exit safety. The pizza place near by will be rethemed to PizzaRizzo from Disney World, and lastly The Silly Symphony Swings will be rethemed to the Electric Mayhem and will be titled The Eletric Mayhem: RockSwings

As someone who has been doing to DCA for 15 years and is a former Disney cast member, I have never fully stopped u til the final break at the end
There’s like 5 stops😭 I wanted to throw up so many times, I’ve rode it 3 times and it’s always had at least 3 stops and it throws you forward

They've changed it Mike. When I rode it as Mullholland Madness, it was actually wild and almost entirely trim free. Shame they have neutered it.
That's really unfortunate they dialed it back, yet the brakes are still super violent.

Coast Rider is the one I definitely want to review in the future.
I see a possibility if I was taken there at 13 this could have been my favorite ride.
Except someone who can ride this can also get on rides like Guardians or Radiator Springs Racers.
Interesting they are more frequently using the trims at the top of the ride. Never had one hit like that 😭
I always have at least one trim hit very hard. It's Russian Roulette which one gets you.
