twice came 8 years after girls' generation! girls' generation debuted in 2007 when the kpop industry was saturated with male groups and there werent a lot of girl groups yet. they quite literally started a the "girls' generation". anyway, girls' generation has an incredibly diverse discography, they're one of the few groups who have never shied away from changing their concept. they got big on bubble gum pop and what do they release next? genie. they did electronic/bubblegum again with oh, so what did they release next? run devil run. in their 2015 comeback they had THREE title tracks and each one has a different, distinct concept. theyre amazing.
Not to mention Sana from Twice literally auditioned using Mr. Taxi by Girls Generation. They are that Iconic.

Fun fact, when "The Boys" trailer came out. Every group hold their comeback. Because they are "scary" enough to get overshadowed by "The Boys".
First, Lion Heart one of the most playful song they had (I think). Because there is so many freestyle in their choreography. So, it's always fun to watch them singing it live.
Second, the next song after "Oh!" is "Run Devil Run". You already see the concept at the end "Oh!" MV.
Third, Bro, you must react to "All Night", "You Think" by them and "Lil' Touch" by their sub-unit. I bet, "All Night" will be your favorite song by them.
Girls Generation are definitely the blueprint for girl groups today, fun fact their albums were also the first ones to come with photo cards! Here’s a list of some other GG/SNSD songs you should check out:

Girls Generation (SNSD) as know as the Nation's Girl Group of South Korea, the legendary kpop girl group, the most respect girl group in whole kpop industry. "What happened to the girls?"
A LOT happened between Gee and The Boys.
They had a major image change with Genie, followed by Chocolate Love later in 2009, THEN they came back in 2010 with Oh! as a kind of gift to show fans the classic cute & sweet image again before plunging into Cabi Song, Hoot, and then pummeling Japan with Mr. Taxi in early 2011.
After all of THAT, they came back to Korea and released The Boys.
“Gee” will always be iconic

Girls Generation debuted back in 2007 they have 6 albums in korean, 3 japanese albums and live or video albums. They pretty much have everything and pretty much change their style every now and then

Ahh I just realised.NO FREAKING WAY did you do a Girls Generation marathon without including “into the new world”. It is only THE most iconic song in Korea to this day and is included into all female idols training because of the intense vocals and choreography. It’s also used in lots of k-dramas too. 💯

Girls Generation have 22 korean videos and 16 japanese videos, they have 6th korean albums this year in august they will release the 7th album in commemoration of their 15th anniversary as a full group. snsd has one of the biggest discography in kpop and asia
Some years ago, I spent almost one week trying to learn their faces😂😂... "Into the new world" was the hardest video to recognize them in my opinion😬😬, but it's my favorite kop song. I'm still in love with the old generation of kpop🥰🥰. My English isn't very good 😭😭

They are my favorite girl grup ever! Girls Generation is a girl grup under SM Entertainment ( same agency with EXO, NCT, Red Velvet, Shinee, Aespa, etc)
So they were a 9 member girl grup Taeyeon Jessica Tiffany Yuri Hyoyeon Yoona Sunny Seohyun Sooyoung. In 2012, they formed a sub-unit consist of 3 Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun, and their sub-unit debut song called Twinkle.
then in 2014 Jessica one of the member left the grup. So they continue as 8. Their last release song as 9 members was called Mr.Mr
In 2017, 3 of the member Sooyoung Tiffany and Seohyun left SM Entertainment and join new agency, but they are still member of Girls Generation until now.
Their last release before the 3 members part way was All night and Holiday.
In 2018, they comeback with a new sub-unit called SNSD Oh!GG with 5 of the girls who still in SM Entertainment and they release song called Lil Touch.
And this August, is their 15th Anniversary, they already prepare a comeback to that😭💗💗 This is their first comeback as 8 member after 5 years!

Just to give you an idea of how much music Girl's Generation has, my iPod has a little over 110 different songs from these girls. I can make a six-hour road trip and get there just as I'm getting to the end of that playlist. To fully understand, you have to hear some of their ballads. That to me is where they really shine. They are the gold standard for vocals when it comes to female idol groups. There is none better and never will be any better. Their harmonies will melt your heart.

In 2011 the girls were all 20-22 so they switched to a more mature concept and that fit the current industry better too. After this, they had Mr. Mr., genie and run devil run which are also mature concepts.
