I remember seeing Fear at the Palace in Hollyweird in 1995. They had Scott Thunes from Frank Zappa's band on bass. 13 years earlier, my band warmed up for Fear at Clutch Cargo's in Detroit in '82. Fear was doing their sound check before the show, and I asked Lee if our band could do a sound check using their equipment before the show started. There would be no time left because we would go on soon and hadn't set up yet. He turned to the rest of the band and asked, "Do we let people use our equipment?" Apparently, it was a no, but I got to talk to Spit backstage afterwards and he was very nice.
Watch their performance in the Decline of Western Civilization(punk documentary by Penelope Spheeris). It's the most confrontational, disgusting, funny and straight up kick ass rocking performance i've perhaps ever seen. I want to have been there, but in a sheet of armor with an AK in my hands. 😄
Excellent in every way! My one, major complaint is that Ving is now, in 2023 singing “New Yorks all right if you’re a fucking saxophone “ instead of “homosexual.” PC from FEAR just ain’t right.
It's not bad. I still think they shoulda broke up 40 years ago. It's just..there's just something like..they're kind of a parody of themselves at this point. But from a musician or artists perspective I understand it's next to impossible to just "stop" doing your craft. It would be like Jack Nicholson just saying "Fuck it, i'm not making movies anymore cuz folks'll think i'm too old." He won't stop till he dies, I guarantee it.
@@iBoujin yes!! At the Masquerade!! I was on the second level by the railing. I agree the definitely were great! I can’t believe Lee still sings great at 72!

I don't know what's worse, getting puked on in 2022 or getting spit on by a crowd of queers in LA, circa 1979. I mean, that wasn't just spit, that was _A.I.D.S. spit._ Eeeewwww!! 🤢🤢🤢
@@sacramentomusicarchive You got vomit down your shirt, that's why you didn't like it so much. If that's not the case, then complaining about a 70+ year old punk rocker and the parts of the band left from the 80's not performing like they're 30 anymore is just returded.
Does it hurt your "feelings" when people say things you don't like? Do you become a little crybaby who needs to kill them in order to be satisfied? Pretty weak, dude.
They sound amazing. Lee's voice is still powerful and Spit Stix is an amazing drummer.
SPIT STIX is still killing it on the drums...LEGEND
Yes he is...
Epic
spit/Tim is THE greatest hardcore drummer, period •
Ok gotta hand it to Lee Ving, he is over 70 still belting these songs out

Lee has taken care of that voice over the years. Thank you for the gift.
I have never listened to FEAR before...this is bad ass!!!

The "play a song about beer guy" is maybe the saddest of all ever-existing humans.
Are you aware of the Fear song called "More Beer"? That's what they're asking for.
@@Kristype1 Yeah, I and I'm sure everyone else at the show got it after the 10th time.
I'm not sure how the "play a song about beer guy" didn't get punched in the throat at a Fear concert by the third song.
I had no idea fear was still performing.
His voice is still there. Hail Lee Ving! 1234! 1234!
I like to think he invented the 1234! 1234! thing. I'm proud to have seen them live once and survived!
Excellent
Lee Ving is the king of beer punk!
And the king of queer punk!
Lee Ving is now punk Robert Loggia and I love him. Fuckin FEAR!
Robert Loggia in Lost Highway. _PEEEEETE!! HEY, PETE!!!_
Awesome filming job. Also hilarious story 😅
God bless F E A R
42 years later Lee still brings it
Amen
I'm pretty sure they're protected by the Dark Lord.

Great set
He sounds great and has aged well
I bet it's because he never stopped performing. I bet the moment folks like Lee or Mick stop playing shows, they will croak.
Looks like a good show to me..
Are you the guy that had the aftshock video taken down? If you are, I am very glad that I found you again thank you!!!!
Next time you drive to see FEAR I will be your personal puke bodyguard and also offer gas money for the privilege.
I bet saying sorry helped
Barbara Manning fan here! Does she live in Long Beach now? Did she ever get her white picket fence?
Oh, yeah: I'm a Fear fan too!
True punk ❤
Fuck yes. I was there Saturday night
Wow not bad

I'm seeing them on Thursday! So it looks like they play for about an hour??
Yep, the standard punk rock headliner set length
If you're talking about Atlanta, saw them too! They killed it!

Lee. Let me do the job. Just call me.
Lee, ..Ving. ..is That Chinese or japanese? ..not that it matters...
Look at these
lol
WHY should 50-something dudes moshing make me oh sooo HAPPY?!?!?
Slam dancing, not moshing. Moshing is a dirt head term. Real punks and skins slam dance.

That is an insult to Lee
he's punk rock's donald trump, even worse
