  • The threat of deportation to Rwanda is causing migrants to head for Ireland instead of the UK, Ireland's Deputy Prime Minister Micheál Martin has said.
The Rwanda Bill, which will see asylum seekers "entering the UK illegally" sent to the central African nation - regardless of the outcome of their application - was passed earlier this week, despite human rights concerns.
It comes amid increasing tension over immigration levels in Ireland, which is grappling with a housing crisis that has affected its own people as well as asylum seekers.

So why aren't Ukrainians treated the same way? There are tons of people fleeing Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, & Afghanistan for the same reasons & more yet they get treated like they're some sort of sub human animals. I think racism has a whole lot to do with it

Why is it that the indigenous population are branded right wing or racist when they are concerned that their way of life is under threat due to mass migration, especially from parts of the world who don’t share their values. The Irish government has such disdain for the rights of Irish people, it’s going to lead to a backlash sooner or later.

This actually makes sense. The EU has open borders and clearly welcomes these people. The UK doesn’t. This isn’t a UK problem, it’s an EU problem. Encouraging these people to continue on to another area of the EU that wants them such as Ireland is completely logical. Any objections from the Irish government would need to be directed towards the EU leadership and certainly not the UK government. The Rwanda scheme probably isn’t needed at all now tbh. Good outcome for everyone I reckon.

@@readesiun988Is that a bad joke? During Brexit negotiations it was the Irish 🇮🇪 government who wanted the Common Travel Area maintained and they said it was because they wanted free movement across the island of Ireland as it was part of the GFA. They got what they wanted and so they are in a common travel area with the UK, Isle of Man and channel Islands. The UK 🇬🇧 government at that time of Brexit probably forgot about the common travel area altogether. If Ireland 🇮🇪 had of wanted the CTA ended I think the UK 🇬🇧 government back then would have had a sigh of relief. But no Ireland 🇮🇪 wanted it maintained. Next thing we'll probably hear is Ireland 🇮🇪 wants the CTA with UK 🇬🇧 suspended due to the immigration. If they do suspend it I hope the UK 🇬🇧 keeps it's side of it permanently suspended and starts treating Irish 🇮🇪 nationals as foreign citizens that should apply to the UK 🇬🇧 settlement scheme if they want to stay here.

In fact we'd have gotten them a lot earlier given there was ~20 years of the Taliban NOT being in charge, which seems to be the excuse these people are using to claim asylum in the West.
The reality is that NGOs are the ones driving this by telling people they can just uproot, move to a rich Western naiton and they'll be taken care of, which is barely true. Ten times more than the UK it has become a tax haven for multinational buisineses Unfortunatly this is the price Ireland has to pay. Dispite all the historic differences between Ireland and the UK ,We have had freedom to travel, live and work in the UK, and many of us have had a good living. It is not the threat of being sent to Rwanda but it has to do with Ireland offering refugees or asylum seekers 3000 euros a month and lodgings....which i saw a news reel about about a year ago and local people in dublin were enraged......this news story here , also on the bbc, is just the propaganda so it looks like tories plan is working....the 3000 euros plan for migrants is also going to happen in Wales which will also push up migrants going there but they won't be able to use the Rwanda deal in that case.....

The Irish have a right to secure their country and allow in (and keep out) whomever they choose. There is no global moral imperative requiring Ireland - or any other country - to provide residence for those from foreign nations. Migrants have a right to ask for permission to enter and stay, and the countries have an equal right to say "no" for whatever reason they want.
For some reason, this concept is difficult for the globalists to understand.

The ECHR will NOT allow the Republic of Ireland to significantly cut down the volume of the asylum approval of illegal border trespassers, like what they have been refusing the UK attempted to do. So if the Republic doesn't want to be flooded by asylum seekers by boats, the only option is Ireland leaving the EU and ECHR, and also ceasing the Good Friday Agreement and restoring the hardborder between the Republic and Northern Ireland (i.e. ceasing the freedom of movement between the UK and the Republic, like some EU members did in the continent). The big question is: Will the Republic sacrifice their EU membership + the Good Friday Agreement + the Nationalists in Northern Ireland + the Freedom of movement in the Common Travel Area for stopping asylum seekers by boats?
