    Can I use MCP3208 to make a 12 bit analog to digital converter with 12 LED that corresponds each bit? I also need to connect a turbidity sensor that will go through the supposed MCP3208 ADC before going to arduino

    Is the IC MCP3208 really good when we use it to measure AC? Or we should use another IC.

      I used this one because it is pretty good for the job and it is a through hole component, so easy to breadboard and solder with.

    I might be wrong, but wouldn't using a higher bit ADC just more accurately show you the noise in your circuit? Your multimeter likely uses RMS, so it is essentially doing stabilization filtering. Even at that, there were some changes in values showing at the higher currents. Either way, I am interested to hear where you ended up going with this project. I didn't see any follow up videos. I know that making content takes time, so let me just thank you for having done it.

      Yes I think you are right, eventually you’d just be measuring noise. I used this ADC chip because it met the needs I have for some other uses, that’s all.

      This video is just the thing I needed. About the higher resolution thing, I will just take about 100 readings and then use the average as the output. That should give a pretty stable reading.
      Also, we can add a filter capacitor on the ADC pin input.
