I have a pvc jig to make a square rope or braid from paracord that would work great with twine and will try it and let ya'll know but this is really nice and I've never seen this type of braid before and will try it simply for the knowledge. Thank you for the vid! it was excellent!

I lov the idea, Both 6 and 8 string.
I was thinking of folding over the first 3 or 4 BT's with an eye loop and a clip already in it and stagger the BT off set. Would you think that will work? I guess to have a start so it does not fray up into the eye look would be the first thought... I was looking at the paracord guys and thought to interact that into this...
I have tons of BT and most all are cut on the knot...
What are your thoughts on this idea?
I have never done this but lov new things to do.

Hi Jaime, this is an 8 string project. my next one will be a 6 string, and it will be around and less bulky. the Part 2 will continue with the rope project. you will scatter the strings.

I'm just starting g this project. :) I'm making this as a lighter version of a cow rope, to help me with roping goats. I'm hoping to have a 25' rope in the end. Can you tell me how many strings I would need? How long is the initial rope you made in this video with just the 8 strings? Thanks in advance!

I once had 60 goats and barbadoe and would like to say that you need to be thinking of 35-40 ft. in a throwing rope. I only have 38 at the time but ou will need the extra rope. unless you have them in a very small pen! Wish thast I had youtube when I started! I'm 54 and have raised goats most of that time. They are good for clearing brush! especially the Spanish version. and also for meat, cheese, ect. which I'm sure you are aware. When it comes to roping them I feel like I have become an expert. they definitely will learn what a rope is quickly and if you can rope goats you can rope damn neart anything! Sorry ta be so long winded! Good luck!

and if you are interested you need ta look at the paracord jigs that tiat makes they work well and would come in handy for yopur rope making. I just coiled the twine this evening from one of my 5+6 round bales just for that purpose

Also, before you start, when you tie the knot at the top, do you stagger those strings like you do at the bottom, so it is easier to add/blend the new strings?

Yes, you do stagger the strings. Part 2 shows you that part. My rope is 25 ft long. you can make them as long as you dont run out of baling twine. I plan on making a 6 sting braid video shortly. A lot thinner and just as strong..It's an under one, over one, under one. Same idea as the 8 string.

Sorry i tryed like half a million times to do it but you are too fast with your hands plus i cant see you hands the whole time so redo your demonstration video

Then try the 6 string braid. It should be easier for you to follow, unless you're hell-bent on the 8 string.. it's just an under two, over two. Sorry it's so difficult for you to follow.

See that cog bottom right in the TH-cam panel? It has speed playback setting.
